It's now 9:00 P.M. I am in my bathroom doing my hair and makeup, now, the bad part is that I still have nothing to wear when I literally have 30 minutes until show time.
I sigh out of stress wondering what I will do until I hear a knock on the door. I walk out of my bathroom to the main door of my room. I open it revealing John, I smile automatically as I move out of the way inviting him in.
I notice he has this big white box in his hands as I notice the name brand looking oddly familiar.
I stay smiled as I glance at the box and back up at him, I point at the box when I say, "What's that?" I tuck in a piece of hair behind my ear.
He sets it down on the bed, "Well, I guess I could just call it peace offering" he shrugs looking down at it. "For what?" I shake my head.
"I don't know." he chuckles, "I was wondering if maybe you'd want to wear it tonight." What does he mean? Wear what? The box? Unless there is something in it. Obviously, Lillian, why in the world would he just bring an empty box?
"Uh, what's in it?" his eyes linger into mine smiling, "A dress." he tells me so elegantly. I lick my lips; I walk my way over to the box.
I slowly open the top and set it beside the now opened box. I gasp placing my hand on my mouth.
It's my dream dress. I thought. It is the dress I had seen in the window as I was shopping that one day looking for something to wear for my concert.
The sparkles shining as I pick it up with my bare hands, my favorite shade of green in view. I laugh quietly.
"How did you know?" I ask. He stares at the dress thinking of what to say, "When I bumped into you that day, I seen you gawking at that dress as if it was the most beautiful thing you had seen." he pauses, "After you left, I went into the store and bought. I kept it since then, until now." he finishes.
I open my mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. I know it's just a dress, but it is just so elegant.
I set it back down in the box carefully and turn to John to give him a hug, "Thank you so much. I appreciate it so much you have no idea." I press the side of my face into his chest, "I will wear it tonight." I whisper.
"Good." he kisses my head, "I know it will look amazing on you." he tells me. I smile against his chest and pull away.
"God. Thank you." I say again grinning. He just smiles at me. "I am going to go put it on." I say grabbing the box. He nods as I make my way to the bathroom.
I shut the door with my foot behind and set the box onto a counter. I strip myself letting my clothes drop to the floor.
I pick up the dress from out of the box, it falls out of its perfect fold going to this long length. I smile once again making my cheeks hurt.
I slide myself into it, I bring my hand to my back to zip it up perfectly. I move to look at myself in the mirror. A dress has never fit me so perfectly.
I also have never felt so confident and hot with myself. I run a trail down my body looking at my curves revealed. I turn to my side and run my hands over my butt admiring my body.
Oh, but I know I will hate my body tomorrow. I roll my eyes at the thought. I take a deep breath and walk out the bathroom.
I see John sitting on a dining chair looking at his phone until he brings his eyes into my view.
I have never seen this expression on him before; shocked, flustered, admired, all at once. I give him a curious look in return, waiting for him to say something, but all he is doing is staring at me or my body for that matter.
