2 hours into the car ride back, the sunshine disappears and rain starts to pour. Felicity stares out the windshield in silent fear as everything becomes a blur. When lightning strikes close, Luke parks on the shoulder. "We might have to stop somewhere till the rain stops."

They find a nearby motel. It's not as nice as the hotels they stay in during cases but it would do. Luke holds his jacket up over the pair as they run for the lobby. The rain pelts down and felicity has a feeling it will last a while.

The small lobby smells strongly of cheap cigarettes and liquor, Felicity instantly hates the vibe. The man working the desk looks as if he'd like to be anywhere else but there. He puts down the newspaper he's looking at with a long sigh when Luke and Felicity enter. "Welcome to Pattson Motel." His words come out in a slow bored drawl.

"Hey, are there any rooms with two beds available?" Luke asks.

Felicity sticks close to Luke's side as he speaks. The worker types slowly on his computer. He nods." Yeah, a room just became available. Do you want to book it?"

They make the arrangement and get their key. They dash for their room, having to brave the rain again. By the time they're inside, both are soaked. "I hope the rain lets up soon." Felicity mutters as she rings the water from her hair.

Luke shakes his head like a dog, spraying her with water. She chuckles as she steps to the side. "Woah now."

He smiles." Sorry." His eyes move to the lone queen bed. "Oh, looks like he misunderstood us." He moves for the door. "I'll uh go talk to him." He leaves before Felicity can say anything.

She walks to the bathroom and grabs a few towels to dry off. Luke comes back soon, looking annoyed."So we're stuck with one bed."

Felicity nods." Well I'm fine with that." She turns red." I mean it's big enough for both of us. I'm good at staying on my side of the bed."

"Okay, yeah same."

When night comes, Felicity lays herself down on the complete edge of the bed. Trying to keep as far away from Luke as possible. He comes out of the bathroom wringing out his soaked shirt. "Tried drying it with the hairdryer, didn't work."

"I could have told you that."

He chuckles." Of course you could have, sabelotodo."

"I have no clue what that means."

"Smart Alec, smartass, whatever you prefer." He hangs it over a chair before sliding into the bed. He turns opposite way of Felicity. "Goodnight, Flick." He whispers as he tucks his arm under his pillow.

"Goodnight, Lu." She whispers back as her eyes skim over his back. They land on a small tattoo on his shoulder blade. She leans a little closer to read it. She can't make out the words in the dim lighting from the lamp. Before she can ask, Luke has turned his head and spots her staring.

"I didnt know you had a tattoo." She says quickly.

" Well, you also don't see me shirtless like ever." He smiles at her as he says this, making her cheeks heat up.

"What does it say?" She says changing the subject.

"Un dia a la vez." He whispers.
"It means one day at a time."

"Do you have only one tattoo?"

Luke smiles." No, but first some dirt on you, got any cool tattoos I don't know about?"

Felicity grins." Yes, a very cool tattoo. You won't believe how amazing it truly is." She sits up in bed, and pulls her pant leg up slightly. Above her ankle is a tiny lopsided smile face. "Did it myself in my rebellious tween era."

Luke laughs." Wow, very rebellious. Is it supposed to be lopsided?"

She smacks him lightly on the arm." Like I said I did it myself. Don't make fun of it."

"It's hard not too." His words earn him another smack.

He grabs her hand with a chuckle." Okay okay, it's very beautiful."

She smiles but it fades when she notices the second tattoo above his heart. "Is that a semicolon?"

He nods after a few seconds. "Yeah, I got it a few year back. It was and... is my reminder not to give up. No matter how much I want to."

After a few seconds of silence, Felicity squeezes Luke's hand." I'm glad you're still here."

He gives her a grateful smile as his fingers intertwine with hers. "Thank you, mi cariño."
