The next morning, Luke wakes up first.
Felicity was on her stomach, her arm draped over his chest, and her leg is bent in a weird angle against his leg. Luke is confused on how she can even be comfortable but soft snores escape her lips telling him she is. He stays completely still, not wanting to wake her up.
But suddenly his phone rings, and he knows immediately it's Emily with a case. He reluctantly leans over and grabs it. "Hello?"
"Sorry to bother you on your days off but I need you to come in. We have an urgent case and we need all hands on deck."
As Emily speaks, Felicity's eyes drift open. Immediately she pulls her arm from Luke's chest and sits up in the bed.
"I'll be there as soon as possible." He hangs up." Good morning."
"Morning, sorry for hogging the bed."
"You're fine, sleep well?" Luke asks before sliding out of bed.
Before she can answer her phone rings. Emily gives her the same information before hanging up. "I guess we need to hurry to the BAU."
The car ride to Quantico is quieter than Luke was use too. When they reach the building, they enter the elevator. Felicity grips the handrail, and shuts her eyes. But they fly open when she feels a hand around her waist, pulling her closer. She looks up at him, her breath slowing as he turns to look at her.
"You're okay." He whispers softly, and for just a moment all is quiet. He leans down slightly and for a split second, Felicity sees his eyes wander to her lips. But when the elevator dings, and his arm is quick to disappear from her waist, she makes up her mind that it was a figment of her overactive imagination.
They make it to the briefing room before Emily is even there.
"This must be urgent if she called you three in from your days off." Rossi muses looking between Matt and the pair.
"I wonder what's going on. I hope Emily's here soon." Spencer says as he flips through a file.
As if she heard him, Emily walks through the door. "Good you're all here. The Philadelphia PD called me this morning. Three bodies have been found over the past 4 weeks. 17 year old Harmony Nolan was found yesterday."
"And we're just being called in now?"
"The PD wasn't sure if they should call us in until now. The first two happened in the woods and they assumed it was just a simple mishap. Wheels up in 20."
Exactly 20 minutes later, they're on their way to Philadelphia. Luke eyes Felicity. She'd gotten quiet since briefing. A far away look in her eyes. Luke forces himself to focus on the case.
A few hours later, the team lands in Philadelphia and drive to the local police department. After being introduced and informed, they're led to a separate room that had been prepared for them. Spencer and Tara immediately begin piecing together the evidence and suspects on the white board. Emily sends Rossi and Felicity to the crime scene, Luke and JJ to the coroner and puts herself and Matt on the files.
Luke and JJ find their way to the coroners and are greeted by a Dr. Anderson. She shows them Harmony's body.
"What was the C.O.D?"
Anderson points at the top of her head. "She was bashed on the head. She died on impact."
"Any idea what she was hit with?"
"My guess is a rock, there was dirt residue in the wound."
After getting all the information they needed, they head back to the precinct. Luke's eyes immediately drift around the room, and he tries to pretend he's not disappointed when he doesn't see Felicity.
"They're not back from the crime scene yet." Matt says with a knowing smile, as if reading his thoughts.
