After enduring long hours on the flight, Sea finally arrived in London with his parents. The bustling airport was a stark contrast to the turmoil inside him. As he stepped out into the cool, unfamiliar air, the weight of his recent departure from home and Jimmy pressed heavily on his heart.
Sea's mother, ever attentive, noticed the shadow of sadness that lingered over him. She gently placed a comforting hand on his back, hoping to ease his burden.
"Sea, are you feeling all right? Shall we get something to eat?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.
Sea mustered a weak smile, trying to reassure her despite the knot in his stomach. "Mae, I'm all right. I'm not hungry," he replied softly, his voice tinged with the exhaustion of travel and the deeper fatigue of his emotional struggles.
Seeing his reluctance, Sea's mother nodded understandingly. She led the way out of the airport, her arm still resting lightly on his back. They moved through the throngs of travelers, heading towards the waiting line of taxis.
As they approached a cab, Sea's father opened the door and gestured for them to get in. Sea slid into the back seat, feeling the weight of the journey and his unresolved feelings settle over him like a heavy blanket.
Inside the taxi, Sea gazed out of the window, watching the city unfold before him. The buildings, the people, the unfamiliar streets—everything seemed foreign and distant. His thoughts drifted back to Jimmy, the emotions from their last night together mingling with the sadness of leaving home. The image of Jimmy's tear-streaked face and the heartfelt confession replayed in his mind.
Sea's mother, sensing his melancholy, reached over and gave his hand a gentle squeeze. "We're here for you, Sea," she said softly, her eyes filled with love and understanding.
Sea nodded, appreciating her words but feeling the ache of loss deep within. He knew that London was supposed to be a fresh start, a chance for new beginnings. But as they drove through the city, all he could think about was the life and the love he had left behind.
With each passing moment, Sea tried to steel himself for the new chapter that lay ahead, while the memories of Jimmy and the unresolved emotions between them lingered, a constant reminder of the bonds that distance could not easily sever.
Sea stepped into the condo his parents had rented in London, his heart heavy with the weight of his recent upheaval. The layout of the new space was strikingly familiar, echoing the design of their home back in Thailand. Each room held subtle reminders of the place he had just left behind, but it was the sight of his own room that struck the deepest chord.
Sea's mother had arranged everything meticulously, ensuring that his new surroundings would feel as much like home as possible. She approached Sea with a gentle smile, her eyes filled with concern and love.
"Sea, I had this arranged for you, just in case you miss home," she said softly, hoping to comfort him.
Sea mustered a small, grateful smile. "Thank you, Mae."
His mother nodded, patting his back reassuringly. "Take a rest first, and then we'll go to the school to do the registration."
Sea's father chimed in with a supportive tone. "The school starts next month. We'll be here with you for a while, showing you around the city, helping you get familiar with everything."
Sea nodded again, trying to absorb their words and the reality of his new life. As his parents left the room to give him some space, Sea slumped onto the bed, his body and mind utterly exhausted. He stared up at the ceiling, the events of the past few days playing in his mind like a loop he couldn't escape from.
Closing his eyes, Sea couldn't stop his thoughts from drifting back to Jimmy. The image of Jimmy's face, their moments of shared happiness, and the painful goodbye surfaced vividly. A tear slipped from the corner of his eye, tracing a slow path down his cheek.
He wiped it away quickly, but the sorrow remained, a dull ache in his chest. Clutching the pillow beside him, Sea curled up into a ball, seeking some semblance of comfort in the soft embrace of the bed. The pillow didn't offer the same warmth and security as Jimmy's presence had, but in this moment of solitude, it was the only thing he had to hold onto.
