You had just entered the cinema, with Haru darting ahead, eager to find the perfect seats. His excitement was palpable, he had been waiting weeks to see the Enchanted Forest, he could barely sit still.
When he finally chose a row, Akaashi settled into the seat on his left, while you sat on his right. Haru's wide eyes were practically glowing, his anticipation infectious. You glanced over at Akaashi, who had a soft smile as he leaned toward Haru.
"You picked a great spot"
Akaashi whispered to him, his voice gentle.
Haru nodded in agreement, though there was still a slight uncertainty in his smile. He had held Akaashi's hand earlier, but now that the excitement had settled a bit, he seemed unsure of the man's presence. You watched from the corner of your eye, you could sense the tension between them. You hoped it would fade soon, but you knew these things took time.
As the lights dimmed and the movie began, Haru's attention was immediately captured. His eyes sparkled as the colors on the screen reflected in them, the magic of the movie world pulling him in. Akaashi, too, was watching, though you noticed how he occasionally glanced at Haru, as if wanting to hold onto every moment of his son's joy.
