Illumi sat staring out the window, face expressionless as usual. His parents had requested for him to stay home for a while which was rather odd, but he didn't question it. Buzz. He looked away from the window and down at his phone, picking it up. Quickly tapping in the passcode, he tapped on the notification.
♥♦: Hey, Illumi-kun!
Illumi blinked while tilting his head before typing a response.
🔮🥀: Hisoka. What do you need?
♥♦: May I come over to your house? Secretly of course.
🔮🥀: Why?
♥♦: Do I need a reason for visiting my best friend?
He paused, partially at the 'best friend' part and partially at if he needed a reason to come. Well, yes, yes he did.
🔮🥀: Yes, you do. Though I do not understand the best friend part.
♥♦: Ah, well, my reason is to see you, Illumi-kun.
🔮🥀: You need a much better reason than just coming to see me.
♥♦: Hpmh, fine. I'll discuss business or whatever that you want me to do.
Business? Not something Hisoka really discussed when coming over, but he supposed it would do.
🔮🥀: Fine, tell me when you're at the gates.
♥♦: Of course, see you soon Illu~
He simply turned his phone off, leaving the magician on 'Read', since he never really knew how to end a conversation in such an informal way as Hisoka did. His parents knew he had a partner in business so to say, but they had never met Hisoka. They usually met up somewhere in Yorknew, though they would occasionally manage to sneak Hisoka into Illumi's room. He got up and checked outside the window, when he noticed no one was there he grabbed his phone and peaked his head out into the hallway. No one was walking by or near his room as far as he could tell, so he ducked back in, locked his door, and undid the latches on his window, slipping out. If he was suggesting going to Illumi's place, then he must be close by otherwise he would've asked Illumi to make an excuse to go to Yorknew.
He walked at a brisk pace through the vast forest that he liked to think of like their front yard. Despite taking caution in going down to the gates, the butlers would most likely not question him for such actions. Though, there might be one butler who would question him. Jacky, a new recruit. He didn't really have anything against the girl, but sometimes she got his parents upset for small reasons. Buzz. He paused and got his phone out, checking to see what it was.
♥♦: Here.
🔮🥀: Nearly there, hold on.
♥♦: Mkay~
Now, where was... ah. There she was. He walked up behind the girl and stood silently for a moment before the girl noticed his shadow and turned around.
"O-Oh! Master Illumi! I, uh, didn't expect you to be here." The girl stuttered, shifting uneasily as she stepped to the side.
He simply nodded and walked past her, already scanning the area for Hisoka. It didn't take long, for he found Mike staring straight at the magician who had enough common sense to know not to move. Mike and Hisoka had met before, but Mike would still attack if Hisoka moved when Illumi was not around. When the pink-redhead saw him, he gave him a wave which caused Mike to look towards Illumi.
"Hello, Illumi-kun~! Mike is as welcoming as ever!" Hisoka smiled as he said this, now at ease to move towards the ravenet. "You seem a bit... grumpy."
Illumi stared at him blankly, wondering how he came to that conclusion.
"Well, I am not. I simply have nothing to do, really, now that my parents have told me to stay home for a while." He replied evenly as Hisoka slipped behind him and brought a few strands of the jet-black hair to his fingers.
"Oh? That must suck for someone who lives to see others killed." Hisoka murmured as he continued to play with his hair.
"Would you stop that as of now? We aren't at the house, and I need to get back quickly." Illumi said, gently moving Hisoka's hand away as he turned and started back to the house with Hisoka trailing quickly behind him.
"Did you leave without them knowing? Were you supposed to leave your room at all?" The magician asked, watching Illumi's face for any shift in expression. Then he seemed to grow a bit surprised. "Wait wait wait, did you disobey your parents?"
Illumi side-eyed him with a frown, he didn't exactly disobey his parents. Really, they had said to stay at home in general, which would count the surrounding area up until the gates, right?
"I didn't disobey them, they said to stay home and the area surrounding the house itself is what I consider to be my home. Besides," He paused briefly as he saw Jacky coming up and motioned for Hisoka to climb up the tree as he usually did.
When Jacky saw him, she gave him a slightly confused look, but stepped aside, nonetheless.
"Mike had sensed something," He explained quietly, careful not to stare into the girl's eyes. "I came to check it out."
"Ah, I see." Jacky gave him a weak smile as he continued.
Once they were at a reasonable distance, Hisoka climbed down from a tree and fell back into line with him. "Carrying on what I was saying, I wouldn't intentionally disobey them."
Hisoka fell silent for the rest of the walk and only spoke once they could clearly see the house.
"It hasn't changed at all since that incident." He said carefully, tilting his head at Illumi.
"Yes, there wasn't that much damage to the house, so it stayed pretty much the same." He said calmly, as if unbothered about what had happened.
Hisoka simply nodded and lingered behind as Illumi walked up to the wall of the house and scaled it with ease, hanging on the windowsill as he opened the window and slipped inside, Hisoka following closely.
