The Spider watched from afar as the group continued talking, most likely telling each other what had transpired in their time alone. While he knew he should be focusing all of his attention on what they were doing, he couldn't help but look across the room to try and find that woman again, Anafela, was it? She had piqued his interest, just something about her aura that he couldn't quite place. He finally caught sight of Anafela again after his seventh time zoning out, she looked a bit more tired than a few minutes ago and he couldn't help but wonder what her job was if she tired this easily. She caught sight of him staring and waved at him, which startled Illumi for a moment before he hesitantly waved back. After that, he turned back to the group and fiddled with his fingers. It was about ten minutes before Kurapika finally gave him a subtle signal and the group started heading off in the direction of their shared apartment. Illumi got up, not too quickly, though, and started to head toward them when Anafela caught his eye again. The woman looked up to see him leaving and gave him a smile, a genuine one, or at least he thought it was a genuine one, as she waved again. Illumi paused due to the actions, they had barely even interacted and this woman was acting so friendly. It honestly reminded him of... no. She was dead. Gone. This was someone else, someone that he would probably never meet again. He turned away, but at the very last moment gave her a small wave goodbye.

He had followed them back to the apartment and waited outside, in the rain, where he was going to sleep, all night, unless he ran off after Kurapika did the mission. It had begun pouring, and it wasn't that much of a bother per say, it was just that he would rather have a warm and dry place to stay. Illumi also didn't have anything to do besides stare into the abyss as he usually did, but he really wanted something to do for some strange reason. "Hm?" He turned his head in the direction of a clattering noise and watched as a blue cat lept from a pile of rubble with a clear ball rolling after it. The cat, which Illumi couldn't help but stare at, stared back at him before meowing rather loudly. "Hello to you, too." Illumi murmured as he reached out and picked up the cat, placing the drenched fur ball on his lap. It meowed again, batting his hand with its paw, claws still sheathed. "Why are you running from this ball?" He asked the cat as he grabbed the ball with his right hand, examining it. The cat began hissing at the ball, prompting him to move it farther away from the feline. "What, little Kil 2.0? Why are you so-..." A sudden wave of nausea washed over him and he clutched his head as various images, and pain, flashed through his mind, and all of them seemed to be from the perspective of... Killua. Once the images had finally subsided, Illumi's eyes flashed open as the clunk! of the ball hitting the floor reached his ears. The cat was simply staring at him, tilting its head to the side. "I guess that's why you don't like that ball..." Illumi rasped. "You think?" A soft and childish voice sounded from somewhere around him and he was immediately set on guard, swiveling his head around to find where the voice was coming from. "He's sent the signal." "What?" But as he looked up, he could see Kurapika staring out the window signaling that the mission was on. He didn't have time to search for the owner of the mysterious voice as he gently picked up the cat and, although hesitantly, picked up the ball which he identified to be made of crystal. "Hey, you can understand me, right?" Illumi asked the cat and the feline just stared at him with wide purple-ish-black eyes. "Yeah, would you like to cause a ruckus with me?" This time, the cat reacted. It leaped from his hold and started ramming into tin cans and other objects while yowling a whole lot. Illumi winced at the loud noises, but soon joined in with making noise. What an annoying yet somewhat effective way of gaining someone's attention.

Kurapika jolted up when crashing and yowling started coming from an alleyway next to the apartment, startled even though he knew it must be Illumi who had gotten the help of some animal, a cat most likely. "What the-?" Killua muttered as he looked out the window before his eyes flew open. "Is that-?!" Kurapika saw it too, a blue cat hued black was ramming into tin cans and other various objects while a certain ravenet desperately tried grasping at it, knocking into objects himself in the process. Without another word, Killua pulled up his hood and stormed his way over to the door as Gon, Leorio, and Kalluto walked into the room, momentarily stunned as they watched him head to the door. "Illumi." Was all Kurapika had to say before the three followed Killua out the door, smirking to himself once they couldn't see him. Now all he had to do was separate Leorio from the others, and he had just the plan.

The three brothers had a nice reunion with each other- if you called screaming and yelling on Killua's part and seven-word max sentences from Illumi while Kalluto just fluttered his fan anxiously to be 'nice'. "-wanted to get my cat." Illumi said again, a bit helplessly if you asked the blonde. "That thing?" Killua asked haughtily as he pointed at the feline who was wriggling in Illumi's grip, seeming to be having some sort of beef with the crystal ball Illumi was also holding. "Yes." The long haired ravenet nodded in affirmation, but then the cat shrieked particularly loudly, causing Illumi to loosen his grip for the cat to get away as it resumed crashing into random things. "I'll get it!" Kurapika said as he took off in the direction of the cat, Illumi trailing him closely from behind. He glanced over at Illumi, giving him a questioning look. "You told it to do this?" He whispered as they followed the cat. "Mhm. The rest of them, except Leorio, should be coming in about three..." The soft patter of a single part of footsteps began trailing them, Kalluto. "Two..." Two more sets started after the first, but a third didn't join. "One..." Kalluto, Gon, and Killua came into eyesight without Leorio, leaving him alone, all alone. He smiled a bit before dropping it as he finally wrangled the cat, pretending it was a rather difficult task, and let go of it once he was turned in the direction of the other three, startling them immensely. Then, in a moment of pure chaos, he sent off four small knives and simply prayed that they hit their targets and disintegrated like he had infused them to do. Amidst the loud shouting and cursing of the children, he couldn't tell, so he flicked one of his fingers in Illumi's direction, and the long haired ravenet quickly scooped up his new cat, stroking its back as he tried to get it to calm down. The three children sighed, as they had gotten scrapes and nips from the cat, but mainly Gon and Killua. "I don't understand." Gon said as he stared at the cat. "Don't understand what?" Illumi asked, with the triple K also giving him questioning looks. "Animals usually love me!" Gon pouted, but as he extended his hand out again, the cat simply turned away, tilting its head up like a human might do if upset. "Heh, not all animals like you, right, old man?" Killua asked, but silence ensued. Everyone looked at each other before Kurapika walked a bit over to where the entrance to the alley was. "Leorio?" He called out again, tensely. "Stay here." Killua said, a hint of suspicion in his tone. The way that his footsteps ended so abruptly, why, Kurapika knew what it meant and couldn't help the small smile worming its way onto his face, glad that no one noticed. "Killua? Is everything alright?" Gon called out worriedly and took a small step forward, but Killua's reply was immediate. "Don't!" All of them were startled at the sharpness of his tone, even Kurapika. "Don't. Just- just stay there, alright?" Illumi handed the crystal ball and cat to Kurapika as he, hesitantly, pulled Gon back, motioning for Kalluto to do the same. "What's going on?" Gon asked none of the three in front of him in particular, but none answered either for a long moment. "Don't question it." Illumi said after antagonizing beats of silence.

As Illumi held back the kid, although hesitantly as he didn't want to touch him and he also wanted to see the look on his face when he saw Leorio, he glanced back at Kurapika. Well, one thing is for sure. Once he looked at the expression the Spider had on his face, he knew that he didn't regret anything that he just did.
