The force was toned down, perhaps due to her young age, and he didn't fall unconscious like the last times. He was just a bit winded, though looking into everything hadn't eased his worries. Next, he picked up the second orb and was about to use it on himself when he paused for a moment. While he knew most of what was in there, he knew he would be able to withstand it, should he? ... ... ... He should. So he did, and he barely registered Lallumi gently tugging at his sleeves as he coiled over which he clutched the table.
"-u? Lulu! Can you hear me?"
He nearly flinched away from both Voice's frantic shouts and Lallumi's touch, but he didn't. Instead, his mind instantly cleared. It was clear, yes, but it was also blank... dull... cold. As he stared into those wide golden eyes, he searched for something, anything, that made her like the others. But it seemed that at this moment, the girl was like him. Blank, dull, cold, emotionless. He gently removed her hand and straightened back up, staring at the spheres with some disinterest before summoning his needle and began weaving his thin threads.
"Lulu?"
"Illumi." He said, and perhaps Voice had been startled for a moment as she did not immediately respond as she usually did. "You know my name, don't you, Edasi?"
"... Illumi. Hisoka's worried."
Perhaps he wouldn't have made the magician wait for him before, but this time he decided to allow the man some time to sort away his panic. The girl, Lallumi, simply watched him work his magic with an unchanging expression. Then, just before hanging her crystal, he pointed his needle at a certain bright spot on the glass.
"What do you remember at this moment?" Illumi asked, Edasi's cold touch returning as she seemed to place her hands over his own.
"Mum." Lallumi replied, tilting her head.
He nodded and returned his focus to the sphere before digging the needle into the glass, making a small crack as he slowly dug the piece out of her sphere. Edasi remained silent through it all, but her displeasure was clear as she gripped at his arm. Once the shard was removed, he turned to the girl and saw she had a rather blank expression, more blank than before anyway.
"Do you remember anything about a woman in a black and purple dress?" He waited a bit before the girl shook her head, and he nodded again.
"Hisoka." He said as he opened the door, face to face with the smiling maniac.
His smile was still plastered across his face, as usual, but it seemed a bit more strained.
"Illu, what happened?"
"I want to adopt her." He stated bluntly, gesturing to the girl who had waddled up behind him.
Hisoka's smile quickly quirked up in a confused and surprised manner, for the assassin had already memorized all of his actions.
"Pardon?" He finally asked.
"I want to adopt her." Illumi stated again, a bit firmer this time. "Is there any reason not to?"
That seemed to snap the magician out of his slightly dazed state.
"Ah! No, no reason at all. Simply... she was just extirpated by your father."
The ravenet nodded, seeming to understand the small problem.
"So then, we do the exact same thing."
The magician's smile seemed to twist for a moment, displeased with his answer.
"Illu, you can't really just-"
"I can." He cut in, waving his hand dismissively. "Just watch Lallumi and I'll take care of it all."
Still noticing how Hisoka seemed a bit still uncertain, he leaned up to cup Hisoka's face in his hands.
"I'll be fine, I have Edasi and, if things go well, Mike." The magician nodded, still a bit uncertain, before he leaned down a bit.
He had a feeling that Hisoka knew who he meant when he said 'Edasi', so he didn't say anything further. Illumi studied his face, looking specifically at those closed eyes which he wanted to see opened. Golden. Maybe it would make this coldness in his chest go away. They stood there in a stalemate for a little bit before the smiling maniac looked away and Illumi could've sworn he saw the faintest shade of pink dust his pale cheeks, but nothing was for certain.
In all honesty, the action caused the coldness in his chest to grow a bit more and he could faintly hear Edasi's faint groan of what seemed to be annoyance in the back of his mind. He didn't know what it was, but he both liked it and hated it. He shook his head, copying the magician by looking away as he tugged on his fingers. This could be sorted out after they finished. Illumi bent down by Lallumi and patted her head, the girl just stared at him with those same wide eyes as he did so, seeming to not understand the action.
He then dusted himself off, giving one last glance to the magician, before he headed out of the building and towards the manor.
