Left Alone

The Camp Fam was asleep, the camp fire crackling in the center of them all, Darius's hand on his necklace, Yaz and Sammy very close to eachother, Ben snoring, laying on Bumpy, And..Kenji laying on Brooklynns lap...?

Brooklynn: you ok..?

Kenji: *sighs* I will be..it was just a nightmare..

Brooklynn: sixth one in the past three nights..

Kenji: ...*looks down and frowns*

Brooklynn: do you wanna tell me what these are about...? You wake up all..freaked out and cling onto me like I'm disappearing-..

Kenji: I-i was scared you..I was scared I was left alone..again...

Brooklynn: Again..?

Kenji: *sighs and sits up* ...all my life..my dad wasn't..-he was never there.. he never saw me..and with mom gone I was on my own...
Whenever I was scared, or upset, or anything..I was by myself and left to deal with it with no help...

Brooklynn: ...you know I'm not gonna leave you right..? None of us will... *kisses his cheek and smiles*

Kenji: *smiles* thanks B..*yawns and slowly lays his head on her shoulder* night..

Brooklynn: night Kenj...*lays her head on Kenjis and sleeps*

(Tre next day)

The Campers realized the needed more supplies, so they made a plan

Darius: Yaz, Sammy, you guys go and try to find bandages and clean water.

Yaz and Sammy nod.

Darius: Brooklynn, Ben, I need help getting food, it'll be a three person task cause..ya know..Dinos-

Brooklynn and Ben nod

Ben: Don't Worry! We'll have Bumpy too!

Darius: thanks! Annndd Kenji..Kenji?

Kenji wasn't there, they looked over and saw him out cold on the floor, they knew he'd been exhausted.

Brooklynn: here..maybe we should write a note and let him rest up?...he barley slept last night...nightmares n all..

They all frowned, everyone has rough nights..

Darius: Let him rest up, someone write a note so he knows where we're going.

Ben: *writes a note on a napkin and puts it under a rock* there we go!

Darius: alright! Let's go guys!

Brooklynn: *kisses his head and leaves* see ya Kenji..

As soon as they all left a little Compy ran over an ripped the napkin, the original message of "We're Leaving, we'll be back soon" turned into just "We're Leaving" ....

(Later)

Kenji snapped awake, hyperventilating for a moment before he swallowed and calmed himself.

Kenji: *shakily sighs* B?..I- *realizes no one's there* B? Brooklynn?? Darius?? Ben?? Yaz?? Sammy???..Guys...?

He stood up and looked around again, and then found the note, "We're Leaving"

Kenjis heart and stomach sunk. He felt his eyes well up as he sniffled. He quickly wiped his face

Kenji: N-no they- they wouldn't leave me like..like that...right?..they wouldn't leave me alone right..???

Kenjis breath quickened as his eyes shook,  he sat in defeat and sniffled, once, then twice, then a sob.
