Simba x reader 💌

Chapter 12

Today the weather was a little more forgiving, it was cloudy and less hot, though it was still painfully dry,

"Zari, I think we should talk.." you began, as you trotted up next to your friend who was basking in the sun.

She looked up, "'bout what?"

You looked around, hoping there wasn't anyone in a close proximity of you two.

"I think I like.. no-no, love simba..!" You said sheepishly.

Zari's eyes widened, and a grin formed on her muzzle, "hah! I knew it! I knew you had some sort of feelings for him!"

"Wow genius, your not the only one who thinks that." you grumbled sarcastically.

"Really, who else thinks so? Or knows so I should say."

"Sarafina.. she's Nalas mom.." you said quietly

"Yeah, and..?" Zari shrugged.

"I think nala likes him too," you narrowed your eyes, "and, come on, who do you think he'd pick, his childhood friend, or some random outlander?" You grumbled again.

Zari nodded slowly "well be positive! You never know his true feelings, you should definitely talk to him!"

"I guess your right.." you sighed.

"He's been giving me the cold shoulder though, how do you explain that?"

"I don't know! Maybe because he's the king of the pridelands and has a lot of duties! Just a wild guess though" Zari said sarcastically.

You rolled your eyes, as you tried not to laugh, "that's actually a pretty legitimate reason"  you thought.

You and Zari continued chatting for a bit before it was time to hunt.

When you and the other lionesses returned to the pridelands you saw simba, so you took zari's advice, and decided to talk to him..

"Hey simba," you said greeting him.

"Hey, any hunting luck?" He asked, as his tail flicked.

"Yeah, we got lucky though, the drought is showing no remorse." You sighed.

He began to groom his fur, as he nodded, "that's right, at least the dry season is almost over, or it should be, hopefully this one doesn't last longer than usual." He stated.

"Definitely." You replied, as you see Zari walking by, she's behind simba so he cannot see her, but she's grinning at the two of you.

You don't react but really hoped simba wouldn't turn around.

You see a flash of lightning out of the corner of your eye. You and simba turn your heads to face it.

"Wow! i hope it rains" Simba exclaimed

You nodded, "Yeah, that would be great." You smiled.

You and simba continued to chat for a little bit about the weather and hunting and stuff, but nothing crazy.

Thankfully it rained, it didn't last long but it was definitely needed.

wow, it's been like 11 months y'all, for some reason i forgot about this story and wattpad entirely! ((also HOW DOES THIS HAVE ALMOST 7K READS?!? im flabbergasted to say the least, but omg i could not thank y'all enough!!)) but dw im back, honestly this story has a lot of filler, and im kind of making it up as I go, but it's been almost a year, and i think I've gotten significantly better at writing so there's that! also i want the reader and simba to have more of a connection together instead of just basically flirting everytime they chat, I think it's more exciting, and overall is more realistic, so im only going to include them being 'romantic' and stuff, in the future if/when they get to that point! can't say right now though 🤫 anyway cant wait to see where this goes yall!

(ps also this is quite ironic bc i started this story last year while i was on vacation, and im going on vacation again in two days (friday!)
