"Who is she?" You thought quite puzzled.

———————————-

"Erm" "zari, who was that lioness that appeared out of "nowhere?"" You asked your friend, wondering if she maybe had an answer to your series of questions.

"Her name is nala" we grew up close, but I think she forgot about me"  zari nervously laughed, "her mother is sarafina, obviously you know her." She continued

"Oh, well that interesting." You said quite bored all of a sudden. "Where did she.. um.. go?" You asked, "apparently she just decided to leave." Zari said "odd right?" She added.

"Hm just like that?" You asked a bit confused again.

"Yeah, but she left all of a sudden with no trace it makes zero sense, to me anyways" She explained "I agree, but who knows theres probably another side to the story" you said giving her the benefit of the doubt.

"Im gonna go I'll see you later zari" you told your friend. She nodded "I'll go visit simba" you thought.

As you walked up over to his den when you heard a faint sound of talking.

Simba, and nala are laying down, near each other chatting.

"Hello" you say awkwardly "Oh hello y/n.... have you met  Nala yet?" He asks trying to break the ice, "No actually.. Um hello Nala" you say "Erm.. Hi" she says scrunching her nose at you, "Anyways.. simba" Nala  begins, but her voice fades as you walk out of the den, "who does she think she is?"  You thought, distraught on how she was acting towards you, when you never did anything to her.

In a fit of rage you dig your claws into a large rock. A horrible  screeching sound is made. "Is everything alright over here?" Sarafina asks a bit worried. "yep, I was just.. sharpening my claws." You said plastering a fake smile across your face, "ah, well, just making sure" she replied.

The cool breeze felt nice on your pelt, the sun was finally setting after a long, day.

Sarafina sat down next to you, "have you met Nala yet?" She asked "Yes she's quite kind." You said lying through your teeth. Sarafina laughed, "you don't have to lie" she smiled "she can be a bit.. much sometimes" she admitted, "however she's always been like that, it's nothing personal" she said with a soft smile, "oh...um.. wow" you said, a bit surprised you heard this from her mother.

"Do you have your eye on simba?" She asked you. "Erm I suppose I do." You said "is it that obvious?" You asked jokingly.

Sarafina laughed "Well you are always around him, but it's nothing bad, I'll tell you this though." She said "Nala also has a fondness for him, well at least that's what she told me before she left." Your heart sank at the news, "g-go on" you said "well, a little bit before she left, she told me she had.. Perhaps, grown quite fond of simba, she admired him," she explained "I'm not sure how she feels now, perhaps she's grown out of it, and views him as a friend, I'm not exactly keen on the situation." "But I wanted to let you know" she said.

"Well it was nice chatting y/n" Sarafina said with a genuine smile, "I'll see you," She said "Goodbye, and thank you!" You hollered to her as she walked away.

But was there really anything to be thankful for?

Nala potentially had love for simba, and she also probably hated you.

You sighed, as you tried to fall asleep alongside the other lionesses.

Alongside Nala.
