CHAPTER 3

Finally it was game day, and Luna was stressed. She decided to head to the gym before they had to leave for the game. It was a home game which is another reason why they have to win tonight. As she entered the gym doors she saw Paige limping around the court. Luna stayed back a bit and leaned on the side on the doorframe. Paige went to go shoot a three and it missed. "Ugh" Paige says throwing her head back to show her jawline. And Luna practically melted at the sight, like literally her knee gave out and she almost fell. She walked in further to the gym so Paige could see her. She didn't say a word and she set her bag down on the bench. She grabbed a basketball and started dribbling around. Her and Paige ignored each other for most of it. Except for the comments Paige said. "Lock your elbow in it will make the ball go in better." Paige commented "If you dribble like that the other team could easily take it away from you" another comment Paige said. They were all comments about her skill and they were all about improving her skill, Luna didn't get so mad over the comments because she knew Paige was a amazing basketball player and she was giving her tips to become an amazing basketball player too.

It was finally game time. The girls all loaded up on the bus to head to the stadium. Nika and Luna sat together of course. Ice brought a speaker so they shuffled Paige's game time playlist. When they arrived they all headed into the locker room. "Ok since Coach isn't aloud in here I wanna say a few things for him" Paige said trying to stand up without her crutches. "Paige use your crutches, you don't wanna get more hurt-" Azzi says before Paige snaps at her saying "I'm fine" Paige takes a breathe and looks at Luna, she gave her a look like she was about to just cry right there and then. Luna wanted to hug her but she knew her boundaries. "Ok" Paige sniffed "Make sure you guys communicate, and pass, have fun let's win" Paige said sad and left the room. "Huskies on 3! 1, 2, 3!" Ice said as we all exited the locker room.

It was halfway through the 4th period of the game. Azzi and Aubrey started keeping tract of how many times Paige has yelled at Luna. It's been roughly 17 times throughout the game. Nika could tell that Luna was getting annoyed with Paige. I mean she wasn't even the real coach, and she could be nicer about it. When Paige yelled at her she wouldn't even call her Luna she would say "95" or "you". Luna was currently sitting on the sidelines waiting to be subbed back in when Paige took a seat next to her. "Listen Caitlin's tough but shes not that hard to defend, you see if you could be quicker on your feet-" Paige tried to finish but Lina stood up and walked away from her. Luna had very little patience left for Paige, Paige needed to leave her alone so she could bag this win. She was just making Luna more stressed out. "Geno can I sub?" Luna asked the coach looking down at him "Ya sure, INES SUB!" Coach yelled and she came running off the court.

There were 10 seconds left of the game, the score was 78-82 UCONN winning. Luna had the ball and was looking for teammates that were open. "95 LOOK AUBREYS OPEN!" Paige yelled to her. Luna ignored her, knowing that Aubrey's guard was right next to her and it would be a risky move. Luna decided to go for the shot at the 3 point line. She shot it up and it swished, the crowd going wild over the buzzer. Everyone was jumping up and down at the victory against their rivals. "95 WHAT THE HECK! I TOLD YOU TO PASS TO AUBREY!" Paige yelled storming over to Luna. "She wasn't open and besides I got a 3!" Luna said frustrated "Ya but what if you didn't make it, huh?" "Well I did Paige and besides we would have already won, and by the way I have a name, it's Luna!" Luna said storming off to the locker room.

"Hey what's wrong? We just won why are you in a mood?" Nika said following Luna into the locker room. "Paige is being an asshole" Luna said running her hands through her hair. "Dont stress, you just scored a 3 and it was a buzzer beater! Don't let her ruin it for you. I also talked to Azzi and Azzi thinks Paige has a little crush on you" Nika says brushing her hair trying to get ready for media. "Is that a joke? She hates me" Luna said laughing. "No apprently that's Paige's way of flirting, and honestly I think Azzis right, I mean the way she looks at you" "Nika your being so delusional right now" Luna says as the rest of the team walks in.

"Hey girlie, how does it feel to have just won your first UCONN game?!" Aubrey says coming in and dancing "Good!" Luna says tucking a peice of hair behind her ear, looking at Paige who's already looking at her. "Just good?! Come on that's not how we do it!" "Fine, amazing!" Luna confesses "We should celebrate!" Caroline says untying her shoe laces "Yes! Movie night in the hanging room?" Azzi says putting on her sweatshirt. "Sure!" The whole team agrees "alright you guys let's go, medias waiting!" Paige says crutching her way out the door. The whole team gets up and walks out, Luna was the last one, as she walked through the door she feels an arm stop her. "Can we talk" Paige says taking her arm off of Lunas wrist. Luna nods and they walk into the locker room taking a seat on one of the chairs. "I'm sorry for getting all pissed at you eariler." Paige says not breaking eye contact with Luna "I have to go, medias waiting" Luna says not even looking back as she walks out the door. Mabey Azzi and Nika were right...
