CHAPTER 5

When Luna arrived home from her interaction with Paige after practice, she didn't know how to feel. I mean Paige was the one who kissed her, so why did she pull away. "Nika I need help." Luna said laying on Nikas bed that had clothes piled on it. "K but I'm trying to pack, which top?" She asks holding up two tops "Um the navy one" Luna says sitting up. "Ok tell now, what's up?" Nika asks sitting down on the floor to fold the clothes she picked out. "Paige just kissed me" "WHAT?! OMG OMG YESSS!" Nika says jumping up and down then rushing over to Luna to hug her "Wait is this not a good thing? Why aren't you happy?" She says after pulling away from the hug, seeing Lunas face. "I mean I am but then she pulled away and ran away. Basically I got really mad at her cause she was critiquing me and calling me that stupid nickname '95' then she got up and was like '95, 95,' and I was like 'what?' And she goes 'shut up' then like smirked then kissed me. And the worst part of it was that it was a good fucking kiss! I mean I felt sparks!" Luna says laying down taking a breath and looking up at the ceiling. "Girl, I already told you, she is like in love with you! That's her way of flirting. I have no clue why she pulled away but sounds like you should talk to her" Nika said placing a hoodie into her suitcase. "Ok I am gonna sit with her on the bus and maybe airplane and try and talk to her." "Sounds good, don't stress about it. By the way she looks at you, you got nothing to worry about. Besides I have been secretly shipping you guys since day 1" Nika says smiling

For the next couple hours Luna mostly hid in her room, trying to avoid Paige. She was planning on what she was going to say to her. So far she has 'Hey Paige, so about the kiss, I am fine with forgetting it all if you want to or not forgetting it' Luna was stressed she had no clue how to word it. All she knew is that she didn't regret that kiss. She was really falling hard for Paige, but she couldn't tell if Paige felt the same...

*Paiges Pov*

"Azzi I'm so stupid!" I yelled running my hands through my straighten hair. "Ya that was kinda dumb" Azzi said to me, totally not helping the situation. I have a had a crush on Luna since the second I saw her at the welcome party. And damn she is hot! Azzi says that apprently my way of flirting is to be mean. I don't think that's true, well maybe. I don't mean to be, it's just a natural reaction when I get nervous. I finally built up the courage to kiss her today. And omg when I say it was the best kiss of my life, I meant it. Like fireworks went off. I was stupid and pulled away. Then I fucking ran away like that poor girl was probably so confused. I just left her after kissing her. Like who does that.

Truth is I have never told anyone except for Azzi that I like girls. That's why I pulled away from Luna. It was my first time kissing a girl and I guess I just got scared. Like how is everyone gonna react. I haven't even told my family yet. I have to tell Luna why I pulled away. I can't just leave her clueless. But I also don't know how to. Like what would I say? "Paige we gotta go, bud leaves in 10" Azzi says slapping my leg to get my attention. I get up and pull on a sweatshirt, then put on my slides and grab my backpack and suitcase.

When we get to the sports complex theres no sight of Luna. Me and Azzi did get there pretty early so I wasn't expecting her to be here yet. "What time is it Az?" I ask her nervously biting my nails. "6:53 chill" Azzi says looking at me like I'm going insane. I was nervous. I finally see her light blue Jeep pull up and I swear I almost threw up. The butterflies in my stomach were insane. I see her and Nika opening the back trunk and pulling out their suitcases. Lunas hair was in a messy bun, she had sweats on, and the cutest pair of glasses. I never knew she wore glasses. As they walk up to us I have to force my self to not run away right there and then. Instead I smile at them.

"Alright girls let's load up!" Geno says hoping on the bus. We all head in and I hop in last. I see Luna sitting in a window seat with Nika on the aisle. Nika gives me a look then side eyes Luna, then she mouths to me, 'switch seats' I look to the seat next to her and it's Azzis, she has a window seat next her that she was saving for me. Ohh I see what they're trying to do here. I nod my head yes to Nika as she gets up and switches with me. I put my backpack on the overhead area of the bus then take my seat next to Luna. She doesn't even glance my way, but she did have AirPods in so maybe she just didn't hear me.

Me and Luna sat in silence for the first 10 minutes. Then I finally decided to speak up. I tapped her shoulder and she took out her AirPod. I looked around and saw most of the bus either sleeping, listening to music or just quietly chatting with each other. I looked back at her, her hazel eyes making me melt. "So umm" I said looking down at my finger nails picking at them. "I wanted to talk to you about what happened earlier" I said then looked up at her. "Oh don't worry, I will just forgot it ever happened. Don't stress!" She said as it was the most casual thing ever. That's not the awnser I was hoping for. Is that how she felt about us? I didn't know what to say so I nodded and put my AirPods in. I shuffled  sad love songs and picked at my nails some more.

*Lunas Pov*
I decided to go with 'I can forget it ever happened' response. I felt like she wanted that awnser so I gave it to her. That's not what I wanted though. I truly wanted to be more than whatever we were and I wanted to kiss her again, and I didn't want to 'forget' it ever happened. Whatever I can't stress about this more, I have a game I need to focus on. I shuffled my heartbreak playlist and internally screamed the lyrics in my brain. I noticed Paige picking away at her nails. I noticed she does that when she's really nervous. I had to force myself not to put my hand on top of hers to get her to calm down, but I knew it wasn't my place to.

About 15 minutes later I felt something heavy hot my shoulder. I look to the side to see Paige whiped out, asleep on my shoulder. I just let her lay on my shoulder. It was actually quite relaxing, it felt like she was made to put her head on my shoulder. I ended up putting my head on top of hers and I eventually drifted to sleep as well. Azzi ended up waking the both of us up when we got to the airport. I was 100% blushing when she woke us up because she kept calling us 'lovie dovies'. I put my hood up so nobody could see how tired I was. I should have taken a nap like Geno said too. Once we got to security I put it down. We rushed through security then made our way over to the food court. Me and Caroline got some Wendy's while mostly everyone else got Chipotle, of course me and Caroline disliked Chipotle so we went with some good old Wendy's. About an hour later our flight finally started to board. I kissed the plane with my fingers for good luck and went to my seat. Nika was 2 rows behind me and so was Aubrey. The seats were random so I was hoping to get someone that was on the team. I didn't feel like having to sit next to a stranger.

Of course last one on the plane was Paige. And of course the universe just had to put out seats together. I was in the middle seat, she was window and a stranger was in the aisle. Great. This is gonna be a long flight.
