🔆 " Don't make me sad, don't make me cry
Sometimes love is not enough
And the road gets tough, I don't know why
Keep making me laugh
Let's go get high
The road is long, we carry on
Try to have fun in the meantime

Come and take a walk on the wild side
Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain
You like your girls insane, so (louder)
Choose your last words, this is the last time
'Cause you and I, we were born to die " 🔆

She was still there, lying, with one hand on her abdomen and one resting on the ground, with her back touching the ground aswell, breathing very slowly.

With her eyes closed, her face disfigured and stained with blood, her own blood mixed with the one of her attacker, with a knife in her abdomen, she was feeling peace, she no longer had pain.

Either lost consciousness, or maybe she was awake but wanted to remain still, it would be interesting to know what she was thinking in those moments, if she was actually thinking about something.

In the meantime, at Duncan's house there was a completely different, almost surreal atmosphere.

When the call stopped they didn't know it was because Courtney's phone was low on battery, they had every right to panick even more so they started thinking about the worst things, the panic was spread.

When the call went off Bridgette looked at the phone for a few seconds, and with her eyes gradually becoming bright she immediately went to Life360, to see Courtney's location.

<You heard her voice right? Did you hear it..? Oh god...what if someone had hurt her? What if..> Bridgette was panicking, just the thought of a life without her best friend totally freaked her out.

Geoff took the phone from her hands, clearly he was more clear in his thoughts between the couple, at his side were Duncan and Heather, both holding their breath, while Izzy was next to Bridgette to try to calm her down despite being anxious herself In short, they were all trying to figure out what the hell had happened to Courtney.

<Ok I got it, she should be in ***** street> Geoff said, almost breathless and handing the phone back to Bridgette, then running to get his sweatshirt.

Duncan, on the other hand, was so anxious he didn't even take that, he took the keys for his motorbike which were in his trousers pocket and as he ran into the entrance he threw them to Izzy.

<What the hell am I supposed to do with these?!> Izzy shouted, leaning over the wall of the room to be seen by Duncan who was already practically out of the house.

<Take Bridgette with you, she can't run.> he replied, even though he wasn't shouting he made himself heard loud and clear by Izzy.

In the meantime he was running as fast as possible towards that street, leaving the house and even risking falling and hurting himself, followed closely by Geoff and Heather.

Heather was teary-eyed too, and what if she could have stopped her and keept her inside the house instead of letting her leave?

Maybe Courtney would have been okay now, maybe she would have been safe.

Duncan on the other hand couldn't even think straight, he couldn't even think at all, well, actually he had only one thought that filled his head.

"It's all your fault".

He had made her uncomfortable, ignored her and even teased her, so she wanted to leave.

And all for what?
