Hin can tell at first glance that Wadee is an educated person, that his body and skin are well cared for and that he probably comes from a wealthy family, but when he drove the repaired luxury car to the address that the boss told him sent, Gornhin understands that...
The family surname on the front of the house tells him that this young woman is not only rich, but... Her family belongs to a recognized aristocratic line.
“Oh, Phi has arrived.”
The girl comes out to greet him, with a kind smile.
“I'm sorry Khun Wadee. It took me too long to get the car.”
“No! No, P'Hin doesn't have to apologize to Wadee, quite the opposite. Wadee is so grateful that he waited for her and brought the car back. Wadee had never dealt with something like this before, I was really, really worried.”
“She was so scared she almost cried.”
Tul jokes so she shyly lowered her head and continued talking.
“At that moment I couldn't think of anything. Suddenly the car shook and I smelled something burning. I got stuck at the red light. A guy on a motorbike was passing by and pointed to the back wheel, but Wadee was so scared that she didn't even dare open the window. When the green light came on, other cars started honking over and over, then started passing me. The burning smell didn't go away when I got out of the car, so I got even more scared. Some people who were nearby approached to move the car to the edge. I was so afraid that the other wheels would explode too...”
“It's okay Wadee. You were right to call Phi.”
“Thank you very much, P'Tul.”
“You've been very grateful to this Phi all the way home, don't you think that's enough?”
“I hope Phi doesn't mind that I'm too grateful.”
With a shy attitude, the girl goes to check the car, hoping that there will be no other problems in the future.
Gornhin now knows he has to act as if he isn't there.
He doesn't speak, he doesn’t act, if there isn't an order.
But Naphawadee addresses him, always with respect.
“Thank you, P'Hin.”
“No, it's my duty. Um... Khun Wadee, you don't have to call me Phi. Call me Hin.”
“Oh, impossible! P'Tul said that P'Hin is the same age as him. Wadee is addressing Phi correctly. No, I can't do that."
The girl turns to look at Tul, and then asks:
“It's okay to call him that, right?”
“Hey, why are you asking me? It’s Hin who should say it. If he agrees, I have no problem.”
Suddenly, Hin's body tenses as Tul approaches, puts her arm around Hin's neck, and turns to look at him with a big smile.
“I've never seen Hin as just an employee, so I'm glad Wadee addresses him with respect.”
Sweet words that seem to have a hidden meaning and show that Hin is more than a worker or son of servants, that he was more than that. But for Gornhin, those sweet words eroded his heart.
Tul is letting Miss Wadee learn more about him.
This intimate gesture makes him understand his position a little more, but he doesn't respond, because Hin knows that the woman in front of him is looking at him with curiosity.
