"Are you sure? Pwede naman kitang ihatid."
I glanced at Hunt through the mirror. He's wearing only his pants and wiping his wet hair with a white towel. Nasa loob kami ng walk in closet niya at katatapos lang namin maligo.
"No, I'll be fine going alone. Besides, you're called in the agency."
I'm fixing myself in front of the mirror, wearing my spaghetti strap top and pants. I'm thankful that Hunt washed my clothes last night.
He searched for his shirt on the closet and chose the black one. The one he usually wear at work. Nang matapos sa pagsuot ay pumunta siya sa aking likuran. He hugged me from behind and put his chin on my shoulders.
I looked at our reflection. I fit perfectly in his arms as he embraced me. We look so beautiful together. How I wish we'd stay this way forever.
"Your tattoo is pretty...Like you."
He traced my tattoo with his index finger. Hindi ako nag-react kaya tiningnan niya ako. Our eyes met through the mirror.
I can't help but stare at myself. I have fair skin. My face is oval-shaped, with a strong jawline and high cheekbones. My eyes are almond shaped and black color, with long, dark lashes and well-groomed eyebrows. My nose is small and straight, with a slightly upturned tip, pero hindi naman gaanong halata kapag nakaharap ako. And my lips are full and pouty.
"You know how you caught my attention the first time I saw you?"
I remained silent at his question.
"Your eyes and your eyebrows...The way you look at me that day is way too different from how others looked at me. Your eyes were cold and almost empty. Parang wala kang pakialam na kaharap mo ako noon. Palagi pang magkasalubong ang kilay mo na parang galit ka sa mundo."
I gave him an amused look. Mukhang nilalabas niya lahat ng sama ng loob niya ngayon ah.
"I don't know you that time, yet. And what do you expect me to do? Kikiligin ako like those other girls in the agency? You want to see my cheeks flushed just by seeing you?"
Bumusangot siya sa sinabi ko.
"You don't find me attractive then?
Napamaang ako sa sinabi niya. I can't believe him!
"What? You're handsome and attractive, alright. But that doesn't mean I should like you. I don't do crushes."
"Even before? When you were a teen?"
A sudden memory from my past appeared. It was the guy I used to talk to before. The one with beautiful eyes. I don't know where he is now and he's the only boy I remembered from my childhood.
"You're quiet. You liked someone before?"
I sighed and faced him. I stared intently at his eyes, but he's not that guy in my past. I'm not confused. I will never be. Iba ang noon sa ngayon and Hunt is the one I like now. Not that guy from the past.
I don't want to be unfair to him. He told me I'm the only one for him and I'm not even assuring him that he's the only one.
"I don't know if it was attraction. He's the only friend I had and I got used to being with him around."
I thought he'd be mad or get jealous again, but he remained looking at me.
"Where is he now?"
Nagkibit-balikat ako. "Don't know. He left without even saying goodbye to me."
"What an asshole."
I chuckled. "Hayaan mo na siya. What matters is that we're together now."
He has his straight face on as he stares at me quietly.
