"Anong pinagsasabi mo, Nyx?" Rex broke the silence.
I glared at him as I wiped the blood on the side of my lips. Hunt went closer to me, worried. I didn't mind him and face Rex and Rainela.
"You don't know? At all?" I scoffed and took a step closer.
"Zyl. Let's calm down, please." Hunt whispered.
His grip on my elbow tightened, just enough to stop me from being violent.
"Tang ina naman oh. Ano ba talagang nangayayri? Rex?!" si Yudis na hindi na natiis at mukhang susugurin pa si Rex.
Nagtitimping pinigilan ni Red si Yudis. The other agents were also alert on what might happen, lalo na at nagkakainitan na ang lahat.
"Oh come on, Zyl! Don't try to save yourself when clearly you just let go of the culprit! O baka naman you know who that culprit is?" She shouted.
"Fuck you!" I spat angrily.
Nakawala ako sa hawak ni Hunt kaya hindi inaasahan ni Rainela ang biglaan kong pagsuntok.
"Zyl!" pigil nila sa akin.
I was gone mad. She keeps pulling the tiny bit of patience I have for her.
Umamba akong susuntok, but Hunt held my waist and pulled me.
"Tang ina mong babae ka! Buking ka na't lahat-lahat kaya si Zyl naman ang sisiraan mo? To what? to save face? Traidor ka!" sigaw ni Ace sa gitna ng katahimikan.
Red stopped her from attacking Rainela who is now full of bruises on her face.
"Damn it! Stop it! All of you!" he shouted.
Hinihingal akong tumigil. The atmosphere is filled with tension and silence.
Galit na galit ako. She's desperate to drag me down. I don't know what's the root of her hatred towards me. Baka naman may nagpadala sa kaniya para gawin ito.
Tensyonado pa rin ang lahat pabalik sa HQ. Hunt was talking with the general on the phone.
Separate ang van na sinakyan namin ni Rainela. She was also attended by medics because of her wounds.
Nang makarating ay agad kaming pinapasok sa meeting room. Magkaharap kaming umupo ni Rainela, pinagigitnaan lamang ng lamesa. Nakapalibot din sa amin ang iilang agents na kasama sa misyon.
"Start explaining everything!" lumagabog ang boses ni General sa buong meeting room.
The mission didn't failed, but what happened between Rainela and I wasn't professional. I admit I let my emotions take over me, but I didn't regret what I did to her. She deserved it anyway.
Para akong lumulutang. I don't know what will happen after this. Will I be kicked out of the agency and will my friends loathe me for who I am?
I don't know at all. And I don't care. Or should I say, I'm too numb to feel anything right now. I feel like whatever happens after this, it's all done for me.
"I was running after Zyl, General to back her up after seeing her run after the culprit. I followed her and I expected her to catch that criminal, but I saw her just watching him go away, kaya po nagkainitan kami." Rainela explained.
I scoffed and smirked. I licked the sides of my lips and looked at General. He was waiting for my side.
"I won't deny that."
Napabaling sa akin halos lahat. Narinig ko ang paghugot ni Ace ng hininga.
I looked at them. Yudis, Red, Ace, Rex and Hunt. I can sense that he's worried, but remained calm. The way he looked at me hurt so much.
