Hidden Mistake

CHAPTER 23

"Tahimik ka ah?"

Hunt scooped my hair and put it on my left shoulder as he continued fixing my nano earpiece. Still not answering me. He's too focused on what he's doing.

We're currently preparing for the mission. I'm already wearing the gown designed for me. It was a sultry, deep red satin gown. The sweetheart neckline with thin straps reveals my cleavage. The corset-boned bodice design hugged my curves and its lace-up back shows almost my skin. The high slit gives a full view of my legs.

I also wore a necklace that has a small syringe pendant. Walang armas na dadlahin, kaya pampatulog na lang. I also have my silver clutch purse with me.

"Nervous, are we?" natawa ako dahil magkasalubong na ang kilay niya ngayon.

He gave me a warning glare, which made me smirk. "Okay, fine, I'll shut up."

Narinig ko pa ang pagbuga niya ng malalim na hininga.

"You're distracting me."

"What? Wala naman akong ginagawa." hindi makapaniwalang saad ko.

"Kaya nga. Wala ka pang ginagawa, naaakit mo na ako. How much more when you're wearing this sexy dress?" he stared at me intently then his eyes surveyed my whole look. Head to foot.

I bit my lower lip, kaya tumingin siya doon bago bumalik sa akin ang tingin niya.

"Huwag kang papahalik sa kaniya." he warned.

I smirked. Tutuksuin ko pa sana na 'lovesick slash possessive na sobrang seloso' kaso tinawag na kami ni Yudis.

"Cap, ready na ang mga sasakyan." aniya sabay baling sa akin at kumindat.

I shook my head at his playfulness. Hunt is busy checking on every one of us, kaya hindi niya nakita ang ginawa ni Yudis. Dahil kung nagkataon, baka hindi kami aalis kung hindi niya aawayin ang kaibigan.

"Are you comfortable?" he asked, taking a peek at my feet.

Napatingin ako sa heels na suot. It's an ankle strap and an open toe stiletto, which is about three to four inches high, I guess.

"Yeah, I can still walk." biro ko.

"Tell me if your feet hurt. I brought slippers for you later."

I couldn't help but admire his simple actions. He's always been a gentleman to me. Akala ko noong una, gusto niya lang magpa-impress sa akin. Seeing him do these things as my boyfriend made me like him more.

"Get in." Bumaling ako sa sasakyan at halos malaglag ang panga ko sa nakita.

What the?? A freaking McLaren?!

Suminghap ako at napabaling kay Hunt. He gave me a confused look as to why I wasn't getting inside.

"Is there a problem?"

I looked back at the car, speechless. They really burned a lot of money for this mission, huh?

"Nothing. I'm just flabbergasted." bawi ko sa pagkabigla.

"It's to catch attention. You need to make a conspicuous entrance at the party to get everyone's attention, especially Varias." he must've noticed my bewildered look.

Namamangha akong pumasok sa backseat. The passenger's seat is for Rex, and Red will be the one to drive.

"Careful, okay?" I nodded before he closed the door and went to the van where he and Yudis would stay while monitoring us.

Nauna na ang iba sa venue para makapagmasid. Kami na lang ang papunta sa venue.

The big white mansion with a modern design welcomed us. Halata sa labas pa lang na may party nang nagaganap sa loob. The mansion is built in a very secluded area. Sobrang lapad ng lupain sa paligid at wala man lang ibang kabahayan. I want to admire the exteriors, but the thought that the one who owns the house is a corrupt former senator and a drug addict made me feel repugnant.
