Joost returned home from the concert venue, a satisfied smile still lingering on his face. As he closed the door behind him, his thoughts instantly replayed the events of the night, particularly the encounter with Angel. He made his way into the living room and dropped down onto the couch, a sigh escaping his lips. He closed his eyes, leaning his head back against back against the cushions of the couch. His mind wandered back to the moment when he gave Angel his number. He recalled the way her eyes widen in surprise , the way her lips formed a stunned smile. The memory ignited a flicker of excitement within him.

Joost heard his phone ding, and glanced at his phone, seeing a text bubble appear on his screen. He unlocked his phone and opened the group chat with Martijn and Apson. A smile tugged on his lips as he read the incoming message.

It read:

"Someone was getting pretty cozy tonight, huh?"

Joost chuckled, feeling a mix of amusement and irritation at Martijn's observation. He quickly typed a response back.

"Oh, shut it. It was just a friendly conversation."

Martijn's reply came almost instantly:

"Just a friendly conversation? Joost, we saw how flustered you were talking to that girl. That was anything but friendly."

Joost's cheeks warmed ever so slightly  as he read the message. He denied it, even though he knew it was true.

"You're imagining things."

Apson joined the conversation with a cheeky remark:

"Right, because we totally imagined you blushing like a schoolboy when you gave her your number, man. Very casual indeed."

Joost rolled his eyes.

"Alright, alright, you guys saw right through me. Happy now?"

Apson: "Absolutely thrilled. Finally got to witness you making a fool of yourself 😂"

Martijn: "You should've seen Joost's face. He looked like a love-struck puppy. It was adorable."

Joost's heart thumped a little harder as he read Martijn's words. Love-struck puppy? Was it really that obvious?

"Okay, you can stop the teasing anytime now. I just happened to enjoy talking to her."

Martijn: "We could practically see the heart eyes you were making at her. You're smitten! 😏 "

Apson: "We've known you long enough to see when you have a crush 😉"

Joost let out a frustrated sigh.

"😤 I'm going to bed, was a great show tonight boys."

Martijn: "Good night, loverboy."

Apson: "Sweet dreams, Romeo."

Joost groaned, both exasperated and secretly amused by his friends' relentless teasing. He typed out a final message, ending the conversation.

"You guys are impossible. Night, losers."

Joost let out a sigh and put down his phone, but his mind was still buzzing with thoughts of Angel. He leaned back on the couch, the memory of her shy smile and those captivating eyes popped into his head, followed by the flutter in his stomach. Joost suddenly realized that he was biting back a smile. He knew he was smitten. He tried to shake off the feeling, telling himself it was just a playful crush. But deep down, he couldn't deny the flutter of excitement he felt every time he thought of her. With a groan, he ran his fingers through his hair and stood up from the couch, realizing there was no point in denying it to himself. He was intrigued by Angel, and he couldn't wait to see what tomorrow would bring.
