Joost's head shot up at the sound of the front door opening. He looked at me, his expression mirroring the wide-eyed surprise on my face. He sat up slightly, his brain working overtime to process what was happening, "Who the hell-" he started, but was cut off by the sound of a familiar voice filling the house. "Angel? You home?" My eyes widened even more as I recognized the voice as Kayla's. Joost glanced back down at me, the implications  of this situation quickly becoming clear to him. "Shit..." he muttered under his breath. "Quick! Get dressed!" We quickly stood up and tried to get dressed as quickly as possible. Joost looked at me, his eyes darkened with concern and frustration. "What do we do now?" he asked in a low whisper, his tone urgent.

Before I could answer the bedroom door swung open, while we were still getting dressed, revealing an amused Kayla standing on the other side. Joost froze as he put on his shirt, his eyes wide as he stared back at Kayla, a mixture of panic and embarrassment written across his face.

Kayla's eyebrows shot up as she saw the scene unfolding in front of her, me and Joost in the middle of getting dressed, both of our faces flushed and disheveled. Her amused expression turned into a broad grin as she leaned against the doorway, crossing her arms over her chest. "Well, well, well..." she drawled, her voice tinged with mirth. "Looks like I've walked in on something interesting." Her eyes flicked to Joost, then back at me, her grin widening further. "Heeeeeey Kayla..." I said with a nervous laugh. Kayla chuckled at the sheepish tone in my voice, she was clearly enjoying the situation. "Hey there, Angel," she replied, her eyes still roving between me and Joost. "It looks like I've interrupted something juicy here." I cleared my throat "Y-You're early." Kayla smirked, "Early?" She repeated, a hint of amusement in her voice. "I didn't realize there was a schedule I was supposed to follow. But given the state of things in here, I guess I shouldn't be surprised."

Joost was still standing beside me, with his shirt on and his pants only half-way on. He felt incredibly awkward, he shifted his weight from one foot to the other, running a hand through his hair in a nervous gesture. Kayla's gaze fell on him, her eyes raking over his half-dressed form. She couldn't help but give him an appreciative once-over. "Well, well, well..." she repeated, her tone now tinged with a hint of interest. "Joost was just leaving..." I said, rubbing the back of my neck. Kayla chuckled again, her eyes flickering between us again. "Is that so?" she drawled. "Just leaving, hmm? Seems to me like you two were doing... something else." She said with a smirk. "Kayla, please!" "Oh, come on, Angel," she teased. "You can't blame a girl for wondering what exactly her best friend is up to." Kayla looked at Joost again, seeing him standing there awkwardly. "So, you gonna finish dressing anytime soon, or are you gonna let me continue enjoying the view?" She said with a grin. Joost's cheeks flushed red at Kayla's words. He could feel her eyes on him. He quickly pulled up his pants more, hoping to get fully dressed as quickly as possible. "Kayla, can you give us a moment?" I asked. "Sure thing, I'll be in the living room, enjoying the ambience." She said and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.

The moment the door closed, Joost let out a deep, frustrated sigh, running a hand through his hair again. "I'm so, so, sorry, I didn't know she would be here so early." He shook his head, his frustration more directed at the situation than at me. "It's not your fault," he said, his voice low. "But goddamn it, talk about bad timing." I stood up and walked towards him. "How about we continue this tomorrow?" I said as my fingers trailed up his arm. A flicker of disappointment crossed Joost's face, but he quickly masked it with a resigned nod. "Yeah, looks like it," he said, a hint of reluctance in his voice. "Tomorrow it is." I sighed "I'm sorry." Joost cupped my face in his hands. He traced a thumb over my cheek, his expression softening "Hey, it's not your fault," he repeated. "No need to apologize. We'll just pick up where we left off tomorrow, yeah?" I nodded and gave him a kiss. Joost leaned into the kiss, savoring the moment. Despite the interruption, he still craved the taste and feel of me, his body reacting to my presence in ways he couldn't control. He held me close for a few seconds before relucrantly breaking the kiss. "C'mon, before Kayla questions us again." I whispered. "Yeah, you're right. The last thing we need right now is Kayla's interrogation."
