"I KILLED HYACINTH"

“You killed your lover”, they're screaming
Some are laughing, some are bleeding
I'm dipping my heart in my caged feeling
Get closer, am I breathing?

People they call me the sun only at night
So that whenever I'm gone, they blame my bright
If throwing up immortality would bring you back to fight
Would you promise me to turn your weakness into might?

I recall the summer, I remember how earth used to move in circles when you were mine
I'm running like rain through a rusty gutter, searching for promises died before their time

I'm begging you, Hyacinth, come visit my doze
If my sun shines, it does because it knows
The hyacinth I planted on your grave seeks growth
If my music reaches you, send me crows
And if I ever fail to play my lyre, know that pain must have sniffed the rose
If I'm no longer able to consume my ire, know that I must be spitting at Zeus and his useless laws
If only my soul were to retire, if only you were an ambrose!

“he killed his lover”, they're whispering
Some are wondering, some are revealing
I'm dipped in quivering, although my blood is livering
Don't get close to my ground, it's Keeling
