Chapter FortyTwo:Misguided Faith

The dust settled down. Two men standing. On the far left was Shunsui. To the far left was his brother, Sunshai. The hot sun was now being blocked by pitch black clouds. These clouds however were not natural, and neither was the smell in the air.

"My my, this war is getting out of hand." Shunsui said as he finally sheathed his zanpakuto.

"Pff, I've always hated how you could stay so calm. Is that why I lost?" Sunshai admitted as he almost fell to the floor; he managed to keep himself up with one knee. "Even with my ability to turn invisible..."

"Your zanpakuto has the power to conceal your entire persona, even your spiritual pressure," Shunsui said, "however, I was able to defeat you since we were family. You could never hide from me."

"Figures... Oh well, even if I die, I'm sure Alec will avenge me."

"Why do you have such confidence in that man?"

"He was my mentor, I vowed to always follow him."

Shunsui walked closer to his brother, he held out his hand to help him up. However, Sunshai slapped his aid away.

"You have such faith in that man, don't you?"

"Of course! He taught me everything I know. And when he was exiled, I was lost!" Sunshai grasped his brother's clothes, "So tell me! Why did you guys exile him for loving someone!"

"It was not my choice, it was Old Man Yama. But he's dead now. This war is pointless, really..."

"It's not!" Sunshai tried to punch Shunsui but failed and ended up on the ground, "Trust me... With the old Soul Society gone, everything will end up much better."

Shunsui said nothing. His brother continued to spout nonsense until his brother's spark gave out. Shunsui couldn't help but feel pity.

"How long will you continue hiding, Nanao?" He said to his Lieutenant who was by a building.

"I didn't know you had a brother..." Nanao said as she walked out.

"Yeah, best you don't tell anyone about it. He was a good kid, however his faith to Alec blinded him to the wrong direction."

"I see..."

"How's the war going?"

"It seems Kensei, Rose, and Hitsugaya have been put out of the fight. Yoruichi is managing and Urahara has encountered a problem from within. Kenpachi and Stephen are the only one's fighting the Second Demon; according to scouts. I'm afraid Byakuya's team is down except for Ash. Ichigo is the only victor and as for-"

"Don't tell me about Jason."

"Why not?"

Shunsui looked to the dark clouds as it began to rain. "Because I know he'll win."
