That night was pure torturous for Jason. He felt hopeless. How was he supposed to defeat a demon without his sword? It was impossible, he barely defeated one with it. What pained him the most is not knowing if his friends were okay, especially Ash, who had received the most injuries during his battle.
On the second day he had to endure the stupid laughs of that small demon. Apparently his name was Dr. Zero. Zero was talkative. He revealed too much information about their plans without even knowing. If Jason succeeded in the fight, he would make sure to put this information to good use.
"Bye bye blondie."Dr. Zero said as he closed down his lab.
The room darkened with the presence of death nearby. Useless. Useless. Useless. These words came to his mind as his eyes gave out on him.
*
He opened his eyes as sunshine burned his face. He stood up, his feet bare as they touched the hot rock. That's when it crumbled. The pillar on which he stood cracked into a thousand pieces.
Jason didn't know what was worse, the dry wasteland scorching his back or the big jagged pieces of rock that weighed on top of him. Through all his willpower he finally cleared them out, one by one, each frying his fingers.
He looked around at this deserted wasteland. Was this his inner world? It couldn't be. Where this wasteland laid should be a powerful ocean. The storms that he found comfort in were replaced by a clear sky with a fiery ball in the center. The pillars that were paved out everywhere were reduced to only as few as a dozen. Those that did remain were on the verge of breaking. To make matters worse, that annoying old man wasn't here to pester him.
"What's going on!" He screamed. Hoping for someone to answer. He couldn't stand this. He tried to summon lightning but nothing came out. He tried to fly but it didn't work.
"Where are you! Why won't you come out? I need your help!" His yells toned down to a whimper as he sat down hugging his legs. "I'm useless without you. Please. Don't leave me. "
"Do not worry. He hasn't left you. But he just can't come to you right now. " A mysterious angelic voice spoke. "So please. Don't cry. "
"What the-" He raised his head from his legs. In front of him stood a woman with luscious blonde hair and blue eyes. She had a gentle aura surround her. The woman dusted off her white dress and crouched next to him. "My you've grown so much. "
"You. It can't be. You're dead. My father just told me. " He said. He closed his eyes. When he opened them she was gone. "I knew it you were not-"
"No matter how much you try, I won't leave. " She said behind him, causing him to stumble backwards. She laughed. "Don't worry. If you want to know how I'm here it's simple. Before you left with your grandfather I placed a bit of myself in your inner world. It was one of my powers as a Quincy. "
"Then why appear now?"
"Because now is the time you truly needed me. " She placed a hand on his chest. "Please. Don't beat yourself up. You're not useless. You're powerful. It's in your blood. "
"My blood is what killed you and what started another war. What's so special about it. " He said with disbelief as he pushed her hand aside.
"Everything. " She said in a heavenly voice. "Your grandfather is a stubborn fool. But you will change him. The same with your father. You're going to be the one to stop this dispute. "
"If my father doesn't kill me first. "
"Your father is blinded with rage. You need to show him the light. "
