Creak...
Atom Eve opened the window to her room and glided inside gracefully. Her small cape fluttered behind her and carefully descended to the floor.
Thump
"Im home!" she greeted.
...
Yet no one spoke.
She looked around her room. Some of her clothes are on the floor, misaligned footwear on the rack, Rex's bag placed near her closet.
"Oh... its open." she said looking at the black duffle bag.
There was a note on it which she walked towards and picked it up. It said:
Gone to make things right. Time to turn over a new leaf. Be back before dinner. XOXO

The note plastered a smile on her face. Its been months when he stayed with her and they were forming a bond. It felt less lonely for her.
It was nice to have a trusted company again ever since Saitama is not patrolling anymore.
"Where are you Saitama?" she said under her breath.
She transformed her costume to a casual wear of a yellow shirt and jean shorts.
Poof!
She flopped on her bed, relaxing her tense muscles. She closed her eyes and used her powers. She used the atoms to extend her senses. A trick she developed from seeing it in a movie.
"Mom and Dad are not here. Guess I'm alone..."
She didn't detect any movement nor felt the contour of the car. She just assumed they left for something.
She tilted her head to the side and stuck her attention to the bedside table. She then rolled over to get a hold on the table's drawer and pulled.
She reached in with her hand and took out two frames she hid inside. Her true family's picture and the other one with the bald man in it.
---Flashback---
"Hnng!!" Elias grunted.
"Careful now.... Baby steps, baby steps" a nurse said.
Elias held on tightly on his newly given crutch and was practicing to use it. He was shaking and tring to balance.
"A-Al-Almost..."
Slip!
"Whoa!!" the former scientist fell forwards.
Whoosh
The man was about to hit the floor until he felt a floating sensation. He then got raised to the air and gently floated down back to his bed.
"Sam- Eve!!" he stopped himself from accidentally blurting out.
"Dr. Brandyworth!" she joyfully greeted and hugged him.
"Tha-thanks for the save kiddo" he said, patting her back.
"Hmm..." she uttered and kept embracing him.
The nurse smiled at the two and quietly left to give them some privacy.
