It's been just about 3 days, and Akeem is really improving. He's awake and aware but he still isn't able to talk yet but were working on it. I've been contemplating very heavily on if I should return back to work since it has been like 2 weeks, but I just can't. Keem is finally getting better and its like I love work and being around the team but I don't want him to feel like i'm just leaving him here alone. I mean he does have Von here with him but for the most parts of the day he's in recovery. I really don't know what to do it's like i'm stuck in between a rock and a hard place.
Speaking on the topic of work though I got a message from Katie. "Hey y/n! Hope all is well with your brothers I was just wondering when you would be returning back to work its been a little hectic without you" her message read. I sighed shaking my head and closing my phone. "Somebody from the team again?" Von asked me, "yeah" i said grunting as I stretched out in my seat.
"Y/nn just go back to work the longer you stay here with us the more you messing up yo bag twin" Von said. "I know but I just don't wanna leave you here alone especially Keem" I said pointing to the boy whole looked at me with an unimpressed face. "I get that sis but I promise you were gonna be just fine ight. How bout this if you go to work after ya'lls games or whatever you can come back here AFTER" he said putting emphasis on the after fact.
I tucked my head in my hands as my thoughts ran through my head. "Fine, but promise me that whenever I call you, you'll answer the phone on the 3rd ring at max" I said seriously. He laughed at me lowly before nodding his head.
"Yes y/nn i'll answer probably on the 4th ring though" he said shrugging, "Devon Omari Y/ln do not play with me" I said giving him the black mom stare. "Y/n Avani Y/ln do not play with me" he said returning the glare. "You better stop before I call Rhyne on you- ahh speak of the devil and she sha'll appear" I said as Rhyne's named rang on my phone.
"Hey ma wassupp?" I asked answering the phone, "hEy MaAa" Von mocked me as him and Akeem laughed. "Hi baby, I was just thinking about you and wanted to know if you were coming back for the game today" she said chuckling at the boys antics. "I uh i'm coming back today yeah, despite my right mind to say no" I said side eyeing them. "Yayyy! Everybody missed you so much what time you gonna be here?" she asked with excitement.
"I'll be there probably 10 minutes before tip" I said as Akeem slapped me on my side. "What bro?" I whispered looking at him crazy, he kept looking between me and the door signaling for me to leave now. "Actually i'm about to leave now to get changed then i'll head to the arena" I said rolling my eyes at Von who was smiling. "Good! I'll see you when you get here in a little bit bubba I love you!" she said with a prominent smile in her voice. "I love you more ma see you soon" I said hanging up.

"Hey y/n good to see you back!" one of our photographers said greeting me, "hey man it's good to be back" I said sending him a smile and wave. As I was walking down the hall to the recovery I heard lots a voices and chatter. It was mainly coming from the locker room so I decided to stop by and check. I knocked on the door catching their attention, "ya'll wasn't going to invite me to the party?" I asked laughing at their shocked expressions.
The first person to try and come running to me atleast was Naomi. "Hiii nani girl I missed you so muchhhh" I said picking her up and spinning her around in a circle, "Y/nn!!" she said giggling in my arms instantly lightening my mood. "Gworl why you ain't tell nobody you was coming?" Lish said with her thick country accent giving me a hug, "just wanted to surprise ya'll I guess" I said laughing as I gave everyone quick hugs. "Hey mama" I said smiling down at Rhy, "hi bubba" she said pulling me into a hug.
"I'm happy you came" she said kissing my cheek, "I was undeniably forced but guess it was for the better" I said shrugging. "Ladies tip off in 20 come out for warm up!" coach Barb yelled out the door. I tried putting nani on the ground so she could walk but she started kicking in protest. "No me stay wit y/n" she said latching onto my neck. I chuckled as I looked at her with the most unserious expression, "how about this you stay with me but when the game is about to start you go with daddy?" I said as she nodded her agreeing.
I was looking through my books from the past couple weeks where Katie kept track of all the injuries or things I needed to know. As I was reading Naomi crawled under the books and poked her head through the hole between me and the book. "Hi mama" I said smiling at her as she did her cute innocent laugh. Ugh how I missed her so much, truth be told Naomi always knew how to brighten someones day and make them smile. I looked up at the Megatron and seen the countdown at one minute meaning I had to take her to her dad. "Time for you to go be with ya daddy girl" I said picking her up.
"Alright Keevin i'm here to finally return your child" I said handing her over to her dad. "Preciate it bro, good to see you doing good and back man" he said dapping me up. "Thanks man I been tryna hold it down as much as I can do" I said, "fasho aye for real though just call me up if you need anything" he said giving me a side hug. "Will do i'll see ya'll after the game, bye nani!" I said waving to the toddler.

Rhyne's Pov
"Rhyne, Lish and Coach T you guys have media" someone from the team said. I carried Naomi with me as I walked down to the media room. I sat down sitting her on my lap as she looked around examining the room. "Why you lookin like that?" I whispered away from the mic as Lish sat down. "Chile cause I wasn't supposed to have media but I just decided it would be a good day to drop 20" she said shaking her head as I laughed.
"Alright we're gonna start with Mike second row on your left" said a mans voice. "Hi this is Mike from sports report this question is for Coach T..." when I heard the question wasn't for me I just zoned out. Naomi started playing with my bracelets and tugging on them. I pulled 2 of them off and put them on her wrists so she would have something to keep her entertained. "Yellwo" she said pointing to one of the bracelets, "yeah yello" I said smirking. "Uh yes hi this question is for Rhyne, my question is how did it feel to hit that major 3 giving you guys the lead" I heard someone over zoom ask.
"I mean I know my roll and I know when to step up to the plate to help my team no matter what even tho-" I was interrupted by Naomi "Y/nn!" she said pointing. "No thats not y/n" I said putting her finger down, "y/n y/n" she said making grabby hands. Y/n walked into the room sitting down behind the table and grabbed Naomi from out of my arms, "Sorry" I said laughing as I cleared my throat. I continued my statement before looking over and seeing Y/n put Naomi asleep in her arms. "Aww look at my babies" I cheesed as I took a picture of them, "stoppp" she said covering my camera with her hand.

I sighed contently as I admired the sight, "I missed this sight so much... Welcome back baby" I said holding her hand as she smiled up at me.
