Nunew's POV

I was peacefully sleeping in my penthouse bedroom, cocooned in my silk sheets, when my phone rang incessantly. Groaning, I reached for it, squinting at the bright screen. It was Nat.

"What?" I answered, my voice thick with sleep and annoyance. "Do you know what time it is?"

"Nunew, we're outside your house. James and I are already here. Please don't open the internet," Nat said urgently.

"What? Why?" I asked, but the line went dead. I stumbled out of bed, still half asleep, and made my way downstairs to open the door. When I opened it, Nat and James rushed in, their faces filled with worry.

"What's going on?" I asked, still groggy and confused.

"Let's go inside first." Nat said, dragging me by the arm.

James nodded, following close behind. "We need to talk."

I let them pull me into the living room, my annoyance giving way to curiosity. "Alright, spill. What's got you two so worked up?"

Nat and James exchanged glances before Nat took a deep breath. "Nunew, there's something you need to know."

I looked at them, my confusion growing. "What is it?"

Nat handed me his phone, the screen already open to a news article. The headline made my stomach drop: "The famously confident Nunew Chawarin boldly asked a guy for his number, only to be rejected in front of everyone."

"Damn it," I muttered, scrolling through the article. "How did this get out?"

James sat down beside me, his expression sympathetic. "Someone must have seen what happened at the bar and recorded it. It's all over social media now."

My mind raced as I continued to read the article. Embarrassment washed over me, but underneath it, anger simmered. I prided myself on my public image, on being untouchable.

"Nunew," Nat's voice broke through my thoughts. "It's not just that article. You're trending on all social media platforms because of what happened last night."

"Trending?" I echoed, my voice hollow. I could feel a knot forming in my stomach.

Nat nodded. "Hashtags like #NunewRejected are blowing up. People are talking about how you got publicly turned down. There are memes, videos, everything."

I felt a wave of humiliation crash over me.

How did I let this happen?

James squeezed my shoulder reassuringly. "Hey, don't worry. This will blow over. We just need to be smart about how we handle it."

I slumped back against the couch, feeling a mixture of anger and embarrassment. "Great. Just what I needed."

I dialed Max's number, frustration boiling over. When he answered, I didn't hold back.

"Max, Have you seen the news?"

"Yes Nunu, but calm down okay?" Max answered.

"What do you mean by calm down when I'm all over the headlines? Tell your arrogant friend he'll pay for this," I snapped.

"Gosh! He embarrassed me in front of everyone. Who does he think he is?"

Max sighed on the other end. "Nunu, Zee already has a girlfriend. There's nothing you can do about it."

I clenched my jaw, trying to keep my temper in check. "I don't care if he has a girlfriend. He humiliated me. I need to do something."

Max's voice was calm but firm. "Listen, Nunu, I get that you're upset, but causing a scene won't help. Maybe you should just let this one go."

I exhaled sharply. "Let it go? You know that's not my style."

Nat, who had been listening to my side of the conversation, chimed in. "Nunew, maybe Max is right. This could get even messier if you push it."

I hung up the phone, my mind whirling with a mix of anger and determination. I couldn't just let this go.

But what was my next move?

James glanced at me, concern etched on his face. "What are you thinking?"

I smirked, a plan forming in my mind. "I have an idea, but it's going to take some work. If Zee thinks he can ignore me, he's got another thing coming."

Nat looked wary. "Just be careful, Nunu. This could backfire."

"I know," I said, my voice steady. "But I'm not done yet. I have to show everyone that I'm not someone to be taken lightly."

James raised an eyebrow. "What exactly do you have in mind?"

I leaned forward, the flicker of a mischievous smile playing on my lips. "Just wait and see. This isn't over."
