Nunew's POV
Helping Zee stand up was no small task. He was heavier than he looked, and with all the alcohol he'd consumed, he could barely keep himself upright. "Come on, Zee. Let's get you home," I murmured, more to myself than to him.
As I supported his weight, Mark approached, looking concerned. "Where are you taking him?" he asked, eyeing me warily.
"I'll take him to his place," I said, trying to sound as reassuring as possible. "He needs rest, and I don't think he'll make it home on his own."
Just then, Max, Nat, James, and Net appeared, their faces etched with concern and curiosity. Max was the first to speak up. "Nunew, what's going on? Where are you taking Zee?"
"I'm taking him home," I repeated, meeting Max's gaze head-on. "He's in no condition to stay here."
Max frowned, clearly skeptical. "And why should I trust you with him? Zee doesn't even know you that well."
I rolled my eyes, letting out an exasperated sigh. "Look, I know we didn't start off on the best terms, but I just want to help. Zee's your friend, and I promise nothing bad is going to happen to him. I'll make sure he gets home safe. Besides, it's not like I can do anything to him while he's in this state. Give me a break."
Nat and James nodded, supporting me. "He's right," Nat said. "Nunew wouldn't hurt him."
Max hesitated, looking from me to Zee, who was barely conscious. Finally, he nodded. "Fine. But if anything happens to him, you'll have to answer to me."
"Understood," I said firmly. "Now, let's get him to my car."
With the help of Nat and James, we managed to get Zee to my car. I opened the back door and gently eased him inside. He mumbled something incoherent, his head lolling to one side. I couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for him.
"Are you sure you can handle this?" Max asked, still looking wary.
"I've got this," I replied, giving him a reassuring nod. "He'll be fine."
Max sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Alright. Just... be careful."
"I will," I said, closing the car door and getting into the driver's seat.
As we drove off, I glanced back at Zee slumped in the back seat. I realized I hadn't asked Max for Zee's address.
Great. I needed to wake him up.
I reached back and gently shook Zee's shoulder. "Hey, Zee. Wake up."
Zee groaned, his eyes barely opening. "Who are you? Where are you taking me?" he slurred, irritated.
"It's Nunew. Give me your address."
He frowned, squinting at me. "I don't know you. Why should I tell you?"
I felt my irritation rising but kept my cool. "Zee, I'm just trying to get you home. Please, just tell me your address."
"No," he mumbled stubbornly, closing his eyes again.
I sighed, leaning closer to him, my face inches from his. "Zee, I really need you to cooperate. I promise I'm not going to do anything to you. Just tell me where you live, okay?"
His eyes flickered open, our faces so close I could feel his breath. He seemed to hesitate, but then shook his head. "No. I don't know you."
Holding back my frustration, I tried a different tactic. "Okay, how about this: you give me your phone, and I'll look up the location myself?"
He stared at me, clearly still irritated and out of it, but finally, he relented. With a defeated sigh, he handed over his phone. I quickly found the address for his condo and entered it into my GPS.
"Thank you," I said, pulling back and starting the car again. "We'll be there soon."
The rest of the drive was silent, apart from Zee's occasional mumbling. When we arrived at his building, I parked and helped him out of the car, guiding him to his apartment. With some effort, I managed to fish his keys out of his pocket and unlock the door.
"Alright, Zee. Let's get you to bed," I said softly, leading him inside.
Getting Zee to his bedroom was another ordeal. I grumbled under my breath about how heavy he was. "You're not making this easy, Zee," I muttered as I half-dragged, half-carried him down the hallway.
Finally, we reached his bedroom. I carefully laid him on the bed, panting slightly from the effort. I started with his shoes, removing them gently, followed by his socks. Then, I hesitated before unbuttoning his jacket. As I pulled it off, I couldn't help but notice his toned arms and well-defined chest.
I stood there for a moment, just admiring his physique. He really is something, I thought to myself. My gaze lingered on his face, so peaceful in his drunken sleep.
Wait...
What am I even doing?
After how he embarrassed me, why am I helping him?
Frustration bubbled up inside me. "You know, you're really something, Zee," I said aloud, my voice rising. "You think you can just reject me and get away with it? You think you can humiliate me in front of everyone?"
I felt my voice getting louder, the anger bubbling up.
Zee's eyes suddenly fluttered open. Before I could react, he grabbed my arm and pulled me onto the bed beside him. I froze, our faces inches apart.
"What did you just say?" Zee asked, his voice a low rumble, eyes boring into mine.
I could feel my heart racing, but I tried to keep my cool. "I said you think you can just reject me and get away with it," I repeated, a bit more calmly this time. "You think you're so great, don't you? Well, news flash, Zee, you're not."
His grip tightened slightly, his eyes narrowing. "You don't know anything about me," he muttered, his voice slurred but intense.
"Maybe not," I replied, my voice more level. "But I do know you embarrassed me in front of everyone. And now look at you. Drunk and helpless."
Before I could continue, Zee's eyes hardened, and he pulled me closer, his face inches from mine. "I didn't ask for your help," he growled, his breath hot against my skin. "If you're so mad at me, why are you even here?"
I took a deep breath, trying to calm the mix of emotions swirling inside me. "Maybe because... maybe because I care, even though I don't want to."
Zee's eyes softened again, his grip loosening. "Why are you here, Nunew?" he whispered, his voice barely audible.
"I... I don't know," I admitted, my voice shaky. "Maybe because I'm not as heartless as you think."
Before I could say anything more, Zee leaned in and pressed his lips against mine. I froze for a moment, my mind racing with shock and confusion. But then, a wave of confidence surged through me. I kissed him back, allowing myself to get lost in the moment. The kiss grew more passionate, our lips moving in sync, a surprising intensity building between us.
Just as I felt the heat rising as his kisses went down in my neck, I pulled back, smirking at Zee's dazed expression.
"Well, well, seems like someone wants more," I teased, my voice dripping with playful arrogance.
"Do you think you'll remember this tomorrow, Zee?"
He looked at me with glassy eyes, a mixture of confusion and longing. I stood up, pushing him gently away. "You should get some sleep," I said, feeling a surge of satisfaction as his eyes stayed locked on mine, filled with desire.
I turned to leave the room, but before I could take more than a step, Zee grabbed my arm and pulled me back onto the bed, trapping me with his strong arms. His eyes were pleading, vulnerability shining through his drunken state.
"Stay with me," he begged, his voice raw.
"Please, don't leave me."
