Nunew walked over to Zee, observing every detail as he approached. Zee, who had just put his phone away in his pocket, looked up to meet Nunew's eyes. As he closed the distance, he crossed his arms tightly across his chest.
"What are you doing here?" Nunew asked, trying to sound casual but unable to hide his curiosity.
"Are you perhaps spying on me?" he teased, leaning his face closer to Zee's.
"And what if I am?" Zee replied boldly.
"If someone leaves you hanging for two days and then you suddenly see them, wouldn't you follow them?" Zee added, crossing his arms.
"I already told you I was busy," Nunew replied.
"But you should've let me know before disappearing so I wouldn't be left wondering," Zee said, his voice tinged with frustration. He sighed deeply and raised an eyebrow at Nunew, his eyes searching for an explanation.
"It's not like I want to control you, but I was genuinely worried. You can't just vanish and leave me hanging like that."
'Huh? Why is he so upset?' Nunew thought to himself.
Nunew was speechless, shocked by how direct Zee was. He couldn't understand why Zee was acting this way, even though he had seen his messages over the past few days. Nunew never expected Zee to be this worried or persistent. Their relationship was supposed to be fake, so why did Zee seem to care so much?
Nunew felt confused and unsure. He saw the frustration and worry in Zee's eyes. He didn't know how to react.
"If you're so busy, why are you here? And who were you with?" Zee asked again.
Nunew chuckled lightly at Zee's question, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. He smirked, taking a step closer, and playfully wrapped his arms around Zee's, the gesture unexpected and intimate. Zee's eyes widened slightly, clearly puzzled by Nunew's sudden closeness.
Nunew leaned in closer, their faces almost touching, and whispered teasingly, "Why are you so curious, Hia? Are you perhaps jealous?" He let the words linger, enjoying the momentary power shift.
"Jealous? No, of course not," he retorted, trying to regain his composure. "I'm just... thinking about what could be happening." Zee said.
He giving Nunew a gentle head pat, which caught him off guard. Nunew's eyes widened slightly at the unexpected touch.
"If someone sees you with someone else and it's not me, they might think you're dating someone else. That would mess up our plan," Zee added, his tone matter-of-fact but tinged with an undercurrent of concern.
Nunew let go of Zee's arm, the playful smirk fading as a pang of disappointment settled in his chest. His mind raced with conflicting emotions.
'Of course, he's doing this for our deal. What else did I expect?' Nunew thought, feeling a bit foolish for letting his guard down even for a moment. He forced a smile, trying to shake off the growing sense of unease.
"Nat is just a friend, Hia. You don't need to worry about it," he replied, though his voice lacked its usual confidence.
"What are you really doing here, Hia?" He asked trying to change the topic.
"I was just passing by, but when I saw you, I thought I'd stop and get some coffee. I was about to get out of my car when I saw you leaving the café, so I didn't go in. Just as I was about to call you, you called me," Zee replied. Nunew just nodded at his answer.
"Do you have any plans for today?" Zee asked.
"It's my day off, and I want to relax. I'm planning to go to the mall for some shopping. Why do you ask?" Nunew responded.
