It's been seven years since we lost dad, and I'm still blaming myself for what happened to him.

"Kuyaaa!"

She calls out to me as she is running around our father's tombstone.

My baby sister has quite grown now, and she's grown into a smart, beautiful young girl.

"Slow down, Elysse. Your feet might get caught in something."

She jumped right into me and kissed me. That smile. She always reminds me of Margarett. It's just right that we named her Elysse Margarett.

"Kuya, I'm hungry."

She pouted at me and tried to look cute.

"What does my baby want?"

I asked her this while turning her hair into a mess.

"Ate Mylaaaa!"

Elysse cheerfully directed her attention to Myla.

That's right. Myla. The girl who first left me. If only I was brave enough to confront my dad, and if only he too was brave enough to tell me everything.

Myla's her daughter, which makes her my sister. Our parents were best friends, while her mom and my dad were lovers. It's just that one night they had a fight, and my mom had to take care of my dad because he could no longer stand because of too much intoxication from liquor.

They made a mistake that night, and that mistake happened to be me without knowing that Myla's mom was also bearing a child.

Our dad was forced to marry my mom, and it was just recently that he knew that she had a daughter.

And yes, he loved my mom. He loved my mom as her best friend, and it was too late for me to know.

"You're thinking about it too much again."

Myla held on to my shoulders as she was holding our younger sister.

"You know you should catch up with your friends."

She smiled at me as she made a mess of my hair too.

"Will do."

I took Elysse from her and guided us back to our car, and she fell asleep while I was driving.

We were silent during the drive when I saw Myla intently looking at Elysse in the rear-view mirror.

"Elysse is going to melt."

I joked at her because she was really focused on the child's face.

"You know, this kid looks so familiar."

I just looked at her again.

"Oh, I know now, but promise me you won't get mad."

"Spill."

I looked back at her.

"She looks exactly like your ex. What was her name again? Jema?"
