I woke up with my kids in my arms while Jessica placed a blanket over us. I pretended to remain asleep when I felt her sit down at the edge of the bed. I'm guessing she's studying the room by the way she roams her eyes around. She stood up and held the photo frame with a photograph of me and Elysse. She put it back and sat back next to me. I felt a hand pressing lightly on my cheek. "I know you're going to be the best dad for our twins. I still love you, Elijah. Nothing is ever going to change that." She softly said this as she was still moving her thumb on my face. I enjoyed every second of her touch and the fact of her mere presence beside me. I've missed this. I've missed her. I fell asleep, trying to hold back my tears and resisting the urge to kiss her. I was awakened by Jessica tapping lightly on my shoulders. "I cooked breakfast for us." She said this as she timidly smiled at me. It felt like every particle in me burst; the room lit up in full brightness, and her face was the reason why it was illuminating. "I'm going down now. You just follow, okay?" Her enchanting voice brought me back to reality, and when it did, I firmly held on to her wrist and pulled her neck to me. The next thing I knew was that my lips were already crashing against hers, and she didn't even protest. The kiss was not aggressive. It was gentle but full of love and longing. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Those were the words I uttered when we had already broken free of our kiss. She held me and looked at me in the eyes. Those brown eyes I will always recognize. "Don't be." She said this as she placed both of her hands on my chest and slowly laid her head there. "I'm sorry, Elijah. I'm sorry I left you, and I'm sorry I even pushed you away. I should not have done that." She started sobbing on my chest, which felt like a blow. "Shhh, we can start over now." I lifted her face and wiped her tears. She buried her face on my neck, and I held her tighter. "Mommy, we're starving!" Elysse knocked on the door, calling us. "We're coming, honey." Jessica fixed herself, and she looked back when she noticed I hadn't gotten up just yet. I stood up and gave her a deep kiss. "You heard Elysse." I laughed and threw my hands up in the air. "Okay, okay." We went down, trying to contain the butterflies in our stomachs, but I smiled like I just hit a lottery jackpot. "Good morning to you, baby brother." Myla greeted me in a tone I couldn't fathom. I just knew she was giving me a side-eye. The food tastes a thousand times better than it ever did. We were just enjoying our meal when Myla suddenly spoke. "So are you two back together? When will the wedding be?" Jessica choked on her food while I almost did a spit take with my juice. "We'll cross the bridge when we get there." I looked at Myla as if warning her of her words. "By the way, can I take my niece and my nephew shopping later?" She winked at me and smiled. There's something sinister about that smile. "So you two could catch up, you know, and I can also spend time with Elysse and Justin." That's it. She's dead. "Chill, baby brother." She stood up and left us at the table while the twins were pouting and showing us their puppy eyes. Pleading. "Okay, you win. But don't eat too many sweets, okay? And be good to your Tita Myla." I saw Jessica smile as our twins began jumping for joy, and I shook my head as I saw Myla grinning. Jessica started clearing the table as our kids left to get ready. She is already preparing to do the dishes. "Let me help you with that." I held her hand as I hugged her from behind. "No, you sit there because your body still needs more rest." That smile still hasn't left her face. I'm loving it. "Any plans for today?" I casually asked as I slowly sat down on a chair nearby, making sure I'm still facing. "Nothing. How about you? You got any?" She said this as she was glancing every now and then." "Benedict said he needs help in planning his proposal for his girlfriend, and from what I've heard, it was not Jessica Margarett Galanza. It appears he isn't your boyfriend after all." I confidently sat on the chair, taunting her. "Oh? Was I not? My bad?" She said this as she laughed. "That means I still have a chance to make you mine. Again." I spat out. "What if I tell you you don't have one because I ain't giving you another? I mean, don't you think that one time was enough?" She's obviously teasing me. I stood behind her, making sure my body was pressed on her. "You think so?" I said this in a raspy voice as I started to run my finger on her thighs. A moan escaped from her lips as I continued teasing her. "Mommy, Daddy, we're going." Our kids jumped at us, which startled both of us. I saw Jessica all flushed from our not-so-heated encounter. We hugged and kissed our kids goodbye, and when I went back, I saw her eyes darken as she was intently staring at me, which made me gulped. I can smell lust in the freaking air. "Uhm?" How the fuck am I lost for words right now? She slowly walked towards me and walked back until I felt my body hit the hall. "You're a really bad guy, you know?" She whispered in my ear, which made me feel electrified. "And bad guys like you should be punished." She nibbled on my ear as her finger traced my crotch. "You're definitely in a desperate need for a shower right now. We're going to Benedict's." She laughed as she pulled away from me. Her eyes darted on the tent that formed in my jeans. I felt my whole temperature rise not just because of what Jessica has made but also because of embarrassment. She's right, I'm in a desperate need for a shower right now.
