Pinigilan ko ang sarili na lalo pang kabahan, at pinakalma ang sarili ko kahit na ramdam ko ang bilis ng tibok ng puso ko. Pagkalingon ko bigla nalang nawala lahat ng takot pangamba sa puso ko. Dammit! it was just Giovan.
"You scared me!" Inis kong sabi sa kanya.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to"
"Where's Anna?" Tanong ko.
"She already left" ani ya.
"Seryosohin mo nga ako Giovan, what are your intentions bakit ka pa lumalapit sa akin. You already have Anna with you"
"We're not together" aniya. What? They're not married?
"It doesn't matter to me Giovan, what I want to know is bakit? Bakit ka nagpaparamdam sa akin, for sure I'm not assuming things" ani ko.
"I want to make it up to you" aniya. Napatingin ako sa mga mata niya, it is full of sincerity. Hindi ko na maintindihan, nalilito na ako kakaisip, pagod na ako mag-isip tungkol sa mga bagay na may kinalaman sa kanya.
"Hindi mo na kailangan pa, I'm good and wala kang kasalanang ginawa so all I want is that please just stay away, ayaw ko na nag-aaway kami ni Anna because of you.
"You know I won't do that" aniya.
"And why? Para saan pa? I understand if you to go to me only if you need anything but if you got no business with me mas mabuti pang-lumayo ka sa akin." Ani ko.
"Because of him?"
"Yes, because of him." Ani ko at kinalas ang pagkakahawak niya sa kamay ko.
"Now if you'll excuse me" ani ko at binuksan ang sasakyan but before I could even lock it ay pumasok siya sa passenger seat.
"What?!"
Kaunti nalang talaga at mapupuno na ako sa kanya, ano ba kaseng kailangan niya!
"Drive me home" aniya.
"Huh?"
"Drive me home."
"Are kidding me?"
"No. I'm not."
"I not your bodyguard, so labas!"
"You too cruel Tham" he gently said.
"The last time I remember you're way more cruel and heartless not too long ago" sambit ko.
"That's why I want to make it up to you"
"No need, Giovan." Ani ko.
"Just another chance Tham, I won't let you slip this time"
"Is it because of the thrill?" Tanong ko, anong won't let me slip? Bakit laro ba to?
"No. Tham, I wanna make things right for us. Give me a chance"
"No." Matigas na sabi ko. He then didn't move, and became silent.
"Kung sa tingin mo nakalimutan ko lahat ng sakit, yes I did forget everything. I forgive myself for being selfless and focus on myself right now. Then Arc showed me how to be treated right" ani ko.
"You're years late Giovan, I hope you won't pester me again" sambit ko. Just enough to make him realize that he should not bother me anymore and live each other lives without minding each others business.
Bumaba siya ng kotse and he just look at me plain, and kind of hurt? O baka namamalikmata lang ako.
I started the engine and drove back to my condo.
Kakadating ko lang at nakita ang text ni Arc.
"How's the party?"
"Okay lang, it was fun" I replied.
"Can I call? But if you're sleepy don't mind"
"No, you can call I'm not sleepy and I have some cases to review"
Kaagad na nagring ang phone ko after I replied to him.
"So many guys approach in the club?" Mahina akong natawa sa sinabi niya.
"No, everyone got their own business to deal"
"That's good to hear, and uhh I ordered a drink for you before you sleep"
"You should not bother, I'm good"
"I will always insist if it's you" ani ya. I smiled from what he said, so gentle, kind, caring all the things that I could never ask anymore dahil nandito na siya.
"Thank you Arc, for everything" ani ko.
"I'm always welcome to serve you my goddess" aniya.
"Come on Arc ,stop calling me goddess that's too much" ani ko.
"What do you want me to call you then? Baby?"
"Baliw, kung mga baby hindi na ako bata no!"
"Well you are, for me aniya.
"Isa ka nalang sakin" ani ko.
"Isa? tapos anong gagawin mo huh? Hahalikan mo ako? Why not" aniya.
"Stop it!"
He chuckled from what I've said.
"Matulog ka nang maaga okay?"
"Mmm"
"Sound like you're going to overworked yourself goddess"
"I'll sleep by midnight" ani ko.
"Seems I can't stop you anymore, but next time sleep early okay?"
"Yes captain" sambit ko.
"I'll hung up now, sweet dreams goddess" aniya.
"Sweet dreams too Mr. Greek God" sambit ko bago binaba ang tawag.
Having Arc is one of the best gift I had from God, because even if I felt that I carried the world before, right now I felt that he carries the world for me. He's funny and I can't believe if his totally a playboy before,
Tila ba siya ang sagot sa lahat ng mga tanong ko noon. He treated me like I'm a real Goddess, he sends me flowers and even letters like we're from a 19th century. Though he can't serenade me because his voice sucks but I've seen all his efforts just to make me feel the best girl ever. I don't know how to be the best girl for him, I don't know how to be the better version of myself but he never questioned my flaws and accepted it. I can't describe me anymore because everything about him is perfect.
He's not my ideal but he became my ideal. He knows how to cook since he's living alone, and everytime that he has time, he always sends me lunch when I'm at work. Sometimes he's the one who delivers it to me, with a matching bouquet and chocolates. Like what he did right now.
"A food delivery for the most beautiful woman I met, my goddess. With a freebies of milktea and snacks for your break time. Also a flowers, because like a flower. I like you," aniya at inabot sa akin ang mga dinala.
Nandito ako sa office ko ngayon because I've been busy to go to the cafeteria of the firm.
"Thank you nag-abala ka pa" ani ko.
"Small thing, I could've bring more but it would be hard for you to eat all"
"Wala kang work?"
"Uhh I'll have a meeting later so I brought this to you." Aniya
"When's the meeting?"
"Uh later"
"What time?"
"Uh- eh 2:00pm" aniya. Kaagad akong tumingin sa wristwatch ko to find out na malapit na ang meeting niya."
"Its almost 2! Hindi mo na sana dinala dito ng personal" ani ko.
"I'm the boss so-"
"It's still business Arc, sige na umalis kana" pagtataboy ko.
"You don't wanna see me?" Napa-face palm nalang ako sa kanya.
"I'll see you later, sige na umalis kana" lumiwanag sa mukha niya at kaagad na dinampian ng halik ang noo ko bago tuluyang umalis.
