"Mommy, you look so beautiful."
Napangiti ako sa sinabi ni Lucky. Titig na titig ang mga itim niyang mata sa akin. Bawat sulok ng aking mukha ay nilibot ng kanyang mga mata na parang unang beses niya lang akong makita. His eyes were glittering and his lips are parted.
"Thank you, baby."
He continued staring at my face while I fixed his hair, putting gel on it so that it stays in place. Nang maayos ang buhok niya ay nilagyan ko naman ng pulbos ang leeg niya dahil nakasuot siya ng polo at may bowtie pa. Siguradong magpapawis siya mamaya. Mahangin naman sa garden pero energetic pa naman itong anak ko kaya mabuting fresh siya lalo sa pictures mamaya.
Matapos siyang ayusan ay hinarap ko siya sa salamin para makita niya ang kanyang sarili. Pero kahit sa salamin ay nasa akin pa rin ang tingin niya.
"Your dress looks beautiful, Mommy," he said, eyeing my white dress.
"And you look handsome, little boy." I patted his head gently and he giggled at my compliment.
I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror. The simple white dress that I wore hugs my body beautifully even though Lili and I just got this from a boutique. The dress was only mid-length so the white heels that I'm wearing are visible. My hair is tied to a simple braid and at the back, my short veil is pinned to it. Si Lili ang nag-ayos ng aking makeup and she made it look so natural that my face glowed like I've never seen before.
The simple elegance of my whole attire was far from the traditional wedding I had envisioned. The lack of brilliance, the simplicity of everything from the venue to my dress, it's all different from the dream wedding I dreamed of when I was a kid.
But I already had that dream wedding once. That wedding was straight out of my imagination. But the marriage that came after that was far from the colorful image that that wedding projected. Ang kasal na pinangarap ko sa lalaking minahal ko ay naging bangungot na siyang gumapos sa akin.
I'd never trade what I'm having now for anything. Kahit wala naman talaga sa plano namin itong kasal na ito. Ang balak lang namin ay sa korte ikasal. But Lili insisted and Luci approved of it.
