THE MIX UP

HEARTBREAKER

Jungkook stares as Yoongi professionally talks to their customer. He clutches the tray in his hand as hard as he can, feeling this anger bubbling inside him.

Yoongi has been avoiding him.

After the kiss the elder would not try to talk to him, nor would he even stay to wait for him after their shift. And whenever Jungkook tries talking to him, he would make up an excuse and quickly disappear...out of sight...but not out of mind.

Jungkook walks towards the counter where Yoongi is and slams the tray on top causing Yoongi to slightly flinch.

" What the heck Jungkook?" Yoongi whispers harshly.

" What the heck? You've been avoiding me that's what the heck!" He says and Yoongi closes his eyes and sighs.

" Can we do this later? Please?"

" YOONGI!!" Both males turn towards the voice to see Hoseok smiling that sunshine smile as he walked to the two.

" Hobi! Wow! Welcome." Yoongi answers just as cheerfully. He likes Hoseok, he's pretty chill and fun. And the boys love him.

" Taehyung told me you worked here so I dropped by for a coffee." Hoseok says then looks at Jungkook, a pink hue forming on his cheeks.

" Hi there. I'm Hoseok. And single. Totally ready to mingle." He says and Jungkook looks at Yoongi, still in a sour mood.

" Good to know." He says before walking away.

" I want his number." Hoseok turns to Yoongi who laughs nervously.

" I don't know..."

" Come on Yoons! Look at him! Such a handsome god with those tattoos and piercings. He's such a daddy and that is exactly my type."

" I'll ask him. But I won't promise."

Hoseok nods and makes an order.

" So...how is it? Living with Taehyung?" Hoseok asks as he waits for his order. He notices Yoongi's smile and how his eyes brighten and a little smirk forms on his lips.

" He's a nice guy. I honestly thought things would be really complicated, but I think I would stick around."

" You two seem pretty close these days. He always talks about you at work."

Yoongi blinks multiple times as his cheeks form a blush.

" O..oh really?" He asks, trying to play it off as a cool guy."

" Yeah. Yoongi this Yoongi that Yoongi's a wonderful cook, Yoongi's so good with the kids, Yoongi smells so good, Yoongi Yoongi Yoongi." Hoseok says then ends it with a little giggle.

" If I didn't know better, I'd think he has a crush on you." Hoseok adds and watches as Yoongi's face actually turns red. He purses his lips so he wouldn't laugh.

" Oh! Here are your orders!" Yoongi clumsily takes the bags from the waiter and hands them to Hoseok who smiles.

" Thanks. I'll be sure to drop by again. Mostly for that cutie." Hoseok dreamily looks at Jungkook who is smiling at a customer. Yoongi awkwardly laughs and bids Hoseok goodbye.

He stares at the door where Hoseok exited to, and he kept replaying Hoseok's words in his head.

It's almost closing time and today, Yoongi knows there is no escape. Jungkook's shift ended half an hour ago but he stuck around to wait for Yoongi.

Yoongi accepted his fate.
That today, his friendship with Jungkook may come to an end.

So after his shift, Yoongi walks over to Jungkook and they head for the nearby park. It's quite late so there aren't many people around. Mostly college students who are couples.

" So...you've been avoiding me." Jungkook starts and Yoongi only stays silent, simply watching his feet as they walk ahead.

" Please talk to me." Jungkook says, sounding so afraid and insecure and Yoongi can't help but hold his hand as they walk.

" I just...I... I regret it." Yoongi finally says, waiting for Jungkook's reaction. He looks at the taller male only to see his eyes shimmering.

He wants to cry.

" You...you don't feel the same?" His voice cracks and Yoongi swears his heart cracks along.

" No...I just...I've always seen you as my really good friend, my family. Like a little brother."

" You kissed me. You could've rejected me but you went ahead and kissed me. Why Yoongi?" Both of them stop, Jungkook jerking his hand from Yoongi and looking at him straight in his eyes.

" I kissed you because...I wanted to know if I really have feeling for someone else." Yoongi admits, dropping his gaze to his hands, feeling like the worst person to ever exist.

Jungkook bitterly laughs.

" You used me. Just so you can tell if you have feelings for that lawyer."

Yoongi looks up quick, shocked that Jungkook knew he has feelings for Taehyung.

" How did you-"

" Know? It's so obvious. You...you look at him like he is your world, and when you speak of him you just...your eyes become this galaxy full of stars...it's so obvious. And I...I was a fool to even think you could ever feel something for me."

Jungkook sniffs and wipes his eyes before his tears fall.

" It hurts, you know? I've loved you for so long and I just lost you to someone who just came into your life. A stranger. And it makes me feel so pathetic because maybe if I would have been brave enough to tell you earlier, then maybe...maybe you would have loved me back."

Yoongi wipes his tears as well and bites his bottom lip, feeling so bad for never noticing Jungkook's emotions.

" You've just broken me Yoongi." Jungkook sighs and looks up at the sky.

" You are such a heartbreaker." He chuckles, as if he has an inside joke to that statement.

" I'm so-"

" Don't apologies. Feelings come, and they go. Maybe... I'll try to move on..."

" I don't want to loose you!" Yoongi raises his voice, knowing Jungkook would cut him off.

" And I don't want to stay with you...at least not now. Because I don't know if I can watch you be happy with another man but me. It would only worsen my feelings."

" So now what? All these years of friendship will just end because of this?" Yoongi asks now feeling angry.

" We weren't friends Yoongi. At least to me, you weren't. You were the man of my dreams."

" Don't leave us." Yoongi says, crying more and Jungkook pulls him close, embraces him like his life is on the line if he doesn't. Yoongi sobs on his chest, mumbling apologies and clinging to his coat.

" We're still okay Yoongi. I have nothing against you."

" Then stay." Yoongi says, clearly knowing where Jungkook wants to go.

" I'm glad I went against my father. Because then, I met you." Jungkook says softly.
" But I have to go back. I have to man up now."

" Will you stop talking to us? Even Taeyun? He looks up to you. He adores you."

"I just need sometime. Tell Taeyun I went to hunt for treasures, and I'll bring him lots of gold." Both of them chuckle and pull away from their hug.

" Don't be silent too long, yeah?" Jungkook nods and ruffles Yoongi's hair.

" I won't. My beautiful bestie."
