THE MIX UP

EVER AFTER

Yoongi smiles when the door opens, the silent home immediately becoming noisy as his now ten year olds walk into the mansion...

" I mean, I'm more gorgeous than she is! I don't get why she can play the role of Juliet and I can't!"

" Because she's a girl...Taeyun. What part of Juliet is a girl don't you understand?" Yuntae says, setting his bag neatly on the couch while Taeyun drops his carelessly on the floor.

" I'm prettier than she is, that's what!"

" You are Romeo...for God's sake!" Yuntae rolls his eyes as they head for the kitchen.

" I don't want to be Romeo! I want to be the loved princess!"

Yuntae is about to speak when he sees his Appa Yoongi.

" Dad!"

" Hey there!" Yoongi opens his arms as his boys run to him, embracing him. He smiles. They have grown so much. And are becoming more handsome as days pass by. Yuntae is still as neat as he went out this morning, not a single hair out of place. While Taeyun has his tie loosened, his shirt untucked and hair messily ruffled.

A beautiful contrast.

" How was school?"

" Awesome!"

" Awful!"

They both answer. Yoongi chuckles. Of course Taeyun would think school is awful...even though he secretly loves it.

" Tell me about it." Yoongi says. The boys perch themselves on the seats at the counter while Yoongi makes them a snack.

" So the school play is coming up." Taeyun starts.

" We're playing Romeo and Juliet." Yuntae says, smiling.

" And guess what?" Taeyun asks with a frown.

" What?" Yoongi asks while grinning, already prepared for the drama.

" They pick Brenda as Juliet... not me! I wanted to be Juliet!"

Yoongi laughs, throwing his head back.

" Taeyun, Juliet is a girl."

" That's what I've been telling him!" Yuntae raises both his hands, tired from explaining over and over again.

" Yeah...but who said Juliet can't be a boy. I mean, have y'all seen this face?! I am pretty, gorgeous, beautiful, handsome, stunning, dazzling, ethereal...all in one package! I'd make the best Juliet!" Taeyun flips his hairs while Yuntae and Yoongi chuckles.

" You'd also make a good Romeo."

" He IS the Romeo!" Yuntae says again, rolling his eyes.

" Why are you upset then? You are a lead actor!" Yoongi asks Taeyun who shrugs.

" I want the princess treatment is all."
Yoongi looks at Yuntae. They both shake their heads.
Yoongi hands them their snacks, listening to Taeyun still complaining and whining.
He checks the baby monitor near him and coos.

Their little baby girl is wide awake, but she isn't crying. Instead, she is playing with the stuffed toy in her hands, kicking her little feet in the air.

His husband is lying in the couch near her, asleep.

" Is she awake?" Taeyun whispers, peeping at the monitor.

" Yeah. Do you wanna play with her?" Yoongi asks as the boys abandon their snacks and follow their father upstairs.

" Yes! She's so adorable! Like a little doll." Yuntae says, smiling as he holds Yoongi's hand.
