"We want to see each other"
"Are you feeling excited?" Lewis asked with a warm smile as he observed me through the video call.
"Yes, it's not every day you see your siblings achieve something significant," I responded, with a soft chuckle.
"You look absolutely beautiful today," he complimented, his own smile growing wider as he noticed my slight blush.
"Thank you," I replied, feeling a surge of happiness as I looked up and caught a glimpse of my brother walking into the dining room.
"Who are you talking to?" Matteo, my brother asked, seeing me focused with headphones on my phone.
"I'm talking to a friend," I said, trying to keep the conversation brief.
"Which friend?" he asked. "I know all your friends."
I hesitated, feeling the need for privacy. "No, you don't, and this is private." I asserted.
"Then let me introduce myself. It can't be that bad, I'm your brother," Matteo insisted.
Feeling flustered, I muttered, "Hang up, hang up," hoping that Lewis would understand my intention. My hopes were dashed when a piercing scream was heard through my ears.
"OH MY GOD, THAT IS LEWIS HAMILTON!" Matteo screamed, shaking my shoulder from behind.
"Yeah," I chuckled, turning away slightly as I neatly stowed the headphones, realizing it would be a good time to introduce Matteo to Lewis Hamilton, who I had casually been chatting with.
"Matteo, this is Lewis Hamilton. Lewis, meet Matteo, my younger brother," I said, feeling slightly exasperated as Matteo casually took the phone from my hand.
As my brother chatted eagerly with Lewis, I felt a twinge of apprehension as I sensed the inevitable question looming in the air. "Has your sister mentioned anything about the tickets yet?" Lewis asked, and I instinctively rose from my seat to retrieve the phone from Matteo.
My brother looked at me with confusion as I tried to think of how to handle the situation without letting the surprise slip. "Um, what ticket?" Matteo asked, his curiosity piqued.
I took a deep breath, realizing I had to steer the conversation in a new direction. "It's just something I haven't mentioned yet," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "We've got a surprise planned. We're going to Silverstone," I revealed, feeling a surge of nervous energy at sharing the news while also being conscious of Lewis still listening in on our conversation.
"Wow," Matteo exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement. "This is the best news ever!" His joy was palpable as he began jumping around the room, barely able to contain himself despite being a grown 21-year-old man.
"I have to let dad know. Is he coming with us? I don't want to upset him," Matteo asked cautiously.
"Yeah, Dad is coming with us. Go tell him," I replied. Matteo quickly disappeared from the room to share the news with our father.
Meanwhile, I noticed a guilty look on Lewis's face as I picked up the phone.
"Sorry," Lewis said apologetically.
"It's alright. Better now than later," I reassured him with a smile.
"We should meet up soon. I'll be with some friends in Birmingham. You should come and join us; I could give you the passes that way too," Lewis suggested.
"Sure, that sounds great. We'll definitely see each other in Birmingham," I replied, smiling as we bid each other goodbye.
As I made my way to the living room, a sense of unease started to creep over me, knowing that my dad's reaction was uncertain. Upon entering the living room, I was met with an intense stare from my dad, while my brother sat next to him, engrossed in typing on his phone, likely chatting with his friends about our upcoming visit to Silverstone.
"Who did you blackmail to get these tickets?" my father asked, fixing me with a stern gaze.
"I didn't blackmail anyone, Dad. I got them from a friend," I replied, finding a spot on the couch.
"Do you realize how much these tickets cost? Are you sure they're real? How can you be certain you're talking to the real Hamilton?" my dad pressed, his anxiety mounting.
"Dad, I met him in person and got his phone number. Don't worry and just enjoy it. This has always been your dream," I reassured him, a smile forming on my face.
"I suppose, but something just doesn't sit right with me," my dad admitted, still harboring doubts.
"Dad, trust me," I chuckled.
