"Peace can be anywhere you imagine it to be."
"Millie, no," my mother's voice resounded as she entered the kitchen. In stark contrast, Lewis appeared completely at ease, engrossed in a lively conversation with my father, brother, and sister in the living room. We had ventured into the room with the intention of sharing some significant news without any delay. Everyone seemed to receive the news calmly, with the exception of my mother, who understandably appeared upset. To my surprise, my father seemed to handle the news well, and there was a hint of satisfaction in his demeanor, as if he was pleased with the prospect of Lewis Hamilton becoming his future son-in-law.
"I want you to know how terrified I was during that period when I had no contact with him. My mind was constantly overthinking everything, and I felt lost. I'm just grateful to have him by my side now, supporting me through everything. I trust him completely. I know I wasn't the best daughter for not confiding in you, but as long as I'm happy, I hope you can understand." I could see the pain in my mother's eyes as I spoke, unsure if she would forgive me easily.
"I understand, honey," my mother said as she moved closer to me.
"As long as you are happy, I am happy too. I just want you to know that I'm not upset, well, maybe just a little, but shh." Her attempt at humor made me chuckle as she pulled me into a warm embrace.
"And when the newest member of our family arrives, I want to be there," she added, her voice filled with love and longing.
"Absolutely, that can be arranged," I replied, a grin spreading across my face at the prospect of her being present for such a significant moment.
"But if he misbehaves again, you're moving back here to me," my mum stated protectively.I let out a small hum as we continued to work together, setting the table and preparing the dishes. Once everything was ready, we all gathered around the table, and the conversation flowed in many different directions.
"We should definitely plan a trip to Monaco, it's such a beautiful place," my sister suggested.
"Absolutely, we can make that happen," Lewis said, taking my hand as we savored the homemade ice cream my mom had prepared.
"Sooner or later, we'll need you there," he added, smiling at me as my brother made a gagging gesture.
"I'm not complaining about having lifetime paddock passes, but love is gross," my brother remarked, making us all burst into laughter.
Later on, we all decided to gather in the cozy living room, taking turns playing cards and enjoying each other's company. I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment, knowing that this was exactly what I needed at that moment.
The day before, Lewis kindly introduced me to his entire family - his sisters, brother, nephews, nieces, and his dear mother. Initially, I felt a bit out of place, but as time passed, they made me feel just as welcome as my own parents had made Lewis feel at home. It was a heartwarming experience that brought us all closer together.
"I think we did a great job," I said with a satisfied smile, running my fingers through Roscoe's fur as he lay lazily next to us. We were sitting on the edge of the pool at Lewis House, a beautiful estate surrounded by lush greenery and blooming flowers. The warm sunshine enveloped us, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere.
"I told you everything would be great," Lewis replied, giving my shoulder a reassuring squeeze. The sounds of nature, from the chirping of birds to the gentle lapping of the water, further enhanced our sense of accomplishment and contentment.
"Now nothing stands in our way of being forever together," Lewis said with a dramatic flair, making me chuckle.
"You say it so dramatically," I teased, enjoying the playful banter between us.
"I mean it, Millie. I want us to face everything that comes our way together. I want to hold you every night as if it's the last time," Lewis said earnestly, his eyes filled with unwavering determination. With an air of anticipation, he stood up and reached into his jacket pocket, pulling out a small box with a visible sense of nervousness and excitement.
I knew exactly what this meant, and my heart pounded with joy and emotion. As I slowly stood up, tears welled up in my eyes.
"I want to ask you to marry me and be the diamond of my life for eternity and till the end," Lewis said, his voice filled with emotion as he lowered himself to one knee, presenting the box to me, his eyes never leaving mine.
"W-will you marry me, Millie?" Lewis asked, his voice filled with emotion and anticipation as he awaited my answer.
"Of course, I will!" I exclaimed, overcome with emotion as I hugged him tightly, feeling the warmth of his embrace and the promise of our future together.
May their lives be filled with an abundance of hope and luck, as they bravely face and overcome any challenges that come their way, all while being united in love.
