I woke up to a gentle sense of tranquility enveloping me from head to toe. Despite the lingering stiffness in my legs from yesterday's escapades, I savored every moment of this serene awakening. It felt like the events of the previous night had bonded Lewis and me on a deeper level. Was this the turning point in our relationship? As I shifted in bed, my hand groped for warmth but found only emptiness, sending a wave of melancholy through me. As I slowly stirred and sat up, a faint rustling behind the bathroom door beckoned my attention. Moments later, Lewis emerged, his eyes reflecting a hint of remorse as he held a toiletry bag in his hand.

"Sorry, did I wake you? I forgot to pack some things last night," Lewis apologized, settling onto my side of the bed. With a gentle gesture, he planted a quick kiss on my cheek, attempting to quell any unease.

"It's okay. Are you leaving already?" I inquired, my voice betraying a tinge of sadness.

"Yeah, remember I mentioned I have to head out for some events before the next grand prix," Lewis replied casually, seemingly unaware of the weight of his departure on me. His nonchalant demeanor about the events of the past 24 hours struck a chord within me, resonating with unexpected poignancy.

"Oh, then I will get ready and leave," I murmured softly, contemplating my next steps as I watched him methodically pack his belongings into his luggage.

"I will give you a ride, alright," Lewis offered nonchalantly, his gaze momentarily wandering as I responded with a resigned "Hm" before seeking solace in the privacy of the bathroom.

As I turned on the faucet and splashed my face with lukewarm water, I reached for a toothbrush from his meticulously organized cabinet, hoping it was untouched. Just then, he walked in with a big, genuine smile, and I couldn't help but reciprocate, the corners of my lips tugging upward in response.

"Im sorry darling," he said with a touch of regret in his voice. "I will make sure to spend as much time with you as I can when we meet again, alright?"

"When will that be, Lewis? You have your schedule around the world, and my schedule is just as hectic. How will we manage to meet?" I asked incredulously, trying to wrap my head around the logistical challenge staring us in the face.

Lewis stood before me, his words wrapped in sincerity and warmth. "For you, I would travel anywhere, darling," he said, drawing me closer with a gentle hand on my waist and planting sweet kisses on my lips. I could feel the soft touch of his lips against mine, cherishing the moment as if it was the last.

"Lewis, you wanted to leave," I reminded him gently, pushing him back with reluctance as his upcoming flight loomed in my mind, casting a shadow over our reunion.

"Right," Lewis said absentmindedly, his footsteps echoing down the hallway as he made his way to his room to fetch his luggage. Meanwhile, I had already started descending the stairs, my heart heavy with the impending sense of his departure.

The car ride was a mix of emotions for me. While I was struggling with the awkwardness of the situation, Lewis seemed to be in his own world, his face lit up with happiness as he gently caressed my hand.

I yearned to talk, to express the whirlwind of emotions churning inside me, but I hesitated. I didn't want to push him if he wasn't ready to open up. So, in the silence of the car, I stewed in my own thoughts, wondering if I should break the silence or if I should simply let the moment linger, embracing the bittersweet ache of impending separation.

As we arrived before my flat, the moment to say goodbye came sooner than expected. "Let's see each other around and let's keep in touch," he said with a longing look in his eyes, trying to reassure me while battling his own conflicting emotions.

"Of course, make sure to stay in touch," I said, craving the reassurance and connection that had become so precious to me, hoping that our bond would endure the distance and time apart, even though I knew his aversion to using his phone.

"I will make sure to be as active as I can, Millie," he said, giving me a bright smile that masked the underlying uncertainty. He gave me a quick kiss, a silent promise lingering in the air, ushering me inside as the cold morning in Britain enveloped me, unaware that this moment of parting would mark the beginning of unforeseen challenges and heartache.
