Misfits (ekko x reader)

XXXI.

Author's note: I'm going to see the Inside out 2 movie t'day all on my own and I'm exited and scared too 'cause I've never been alone to a cinema lmao :]

The creature broke into a run, following you and Ekko flying away on the machines. It cried out as you left the abandoned gray street and stopped before the street ended. You turned to spare it one last sad look, it yipped at you, but you had to turn away from it and follow the boy. You sped up a little and caught up to Ekko, and the two of you flew in silence for a little while. It was weird how this part of the Undercity was almost dead, the usual chatter of different streets replaced with quiet whispers from the shadows.

Your eyes started to get heavy, and you fought to stay awake, the lack of sleep was finally getting to you. Ekko watched you as you tried to shake yourself awake, raising one of his eyebrows and closing the gap between you two, just to be sure. You yawned again and he rolled his eyes with a smile spreading on his lips.
"Let's stop for a bit."
He suggested, but it was more of a command, and flew into an opened circular gap in a wall nearby.
You followed him, nearly crashing into the wall, but ultimately getting in unscathed. Another one of his little spots?

The boy sat on ground, you by his side and the hoverboards layed in front of your spread legs. It was dark and quiet and your eyelids were getting heavier with every passing second. The heat radiated from Ekko's body, the side of his arm pressed against yours. It was a repeating cycle of closing your eyes and then prying them open, over and over again, each time harder than before. Finally you couldn't fight sleep anymore and your consciousness slipped away. As your body relaxed, your head slid onto Ekko and he just chuckled softly.

The boy let you stay like that for a bit, before he carefully pushed your head off him and got up. He secured your board on his back and stood above your sleeping body. Ekko shook his head and smiled at the sight, then he crouched down and scooted you up. His hoverboard started making a low humming noise and Ekko flew out of the random room, carrying your unconscious body back to the base.

Loud thud echoed through the silence as Ekko banged on the base door. The big stone rolled away and Scar welcomes the leader back. He gave Ekko a questioning look and moved his head towards you're sleeping body that the leader cradled in his arms. Ekko just shrugged and flew in, heading towards his room. Scar rolled the stone back to close the entrance and walked away somewhere. Few other members were hanging around the base, but most of them were fast asleep how, and the two of you were supposed to be too.

Ekko let his board lay on his balcony and used your foot to turn the handle of his door, letting you two in. He gently layed you onto his bed and sighed. Your hoverboard got placed beside the bed and you rolled in your sleep closer to a wall that hugged the furniture. Ekko took his boots off and removed the chest plate that he wore on top of his white top. He sat on the bed, contemplating what to do. Only to shrug and slip into the bed behind you, carefully snaking his hands around your chest and resting his forehead on your back. He knew there'd be consequences in the morning, but right now, he couldn't care less.
