Chapter 1

JISUNG

"Is all this really necessary?"

"What do you mean Ji of course it is, you're about to go into a heavily guarded, very dangerous ball! Yes, it happens every year.. but all of the strongest most ruthless mafia leaders usually attend. We can't take any chances" Felix said whilst securing me into my bulletproof vest.

"You're acting like i've never gone into a dangerous situation before lix, ill be okay, I promise" I say grabbing both his hands to make him look at me.

"Look, all I'm saying is that you've come way too far for it to all fall apart now. I care about you, we want what you want. Just please don't go rogue on us, we know how you like to improvise" Felix's eyes rolled as he gave a little giggle.

And here I was thinking my improvisation skills were pretty good, yikes.

"I know, I know. You know I can handle myself, plus I'm just going in to get some information. Then I'll come straight back out. Piece of cake!" I tell him as i give him my biggest grin.

Oooh cake! Actually, make that cheesecake... Now I'm hungry, great.

"Piece of cake my ass, Ji. I'll be on standby. In and out." He says sternly as he fixes the final parts of my suit.

"You're my eyes and ears, what could possibly happen to me whilst I have an angel like you watching over me?" I say as I throw him a little wink and a smile.

"Well I suppose you're right about that. I really am an angel" He said flicking his long blonde locks behind his shoulder and giving a royal wave.

His actions make me giggle at him. "Are we all good to go now? Have you finished, does it look good?" I ask as I turn to look at my reflection in the mirror.

I gasped at the outfit that Felix had chosen for me. The suit was fit to perfection. An all black suit, with a slight shimmer to it, if you turned in certain lights. The shirt was deep blue with the top few buttons undone to reveal some of my chest. Around my neck were 2 silver chains that matched perfectly with the silver rings and bracelet that he had chosen for me. The shirt also matched my belt only drawing more attention to my petite waist and offsetting my deep blue hair. The eyeliner he had put on me made my already, big dark eyes stand out even more. Everything was perfect, to the very last detail.

"Felix, you never fail to amaze me. I know its a for a mission, but this is just beautiful!" I said as I grinned happily at my best friend.

"I'm really glad you like it Ji" he smiled back warmly, making his eyes turn to crescents. "Now, down to business. We've planned ahead so you wont have any weapons in or under your outfit today, so as to not draw attention to yourself when you enter the venue. If you do require weapons ect. Then you need to go to the bathroom on the third floor, its for vips only but no one really goes in there. There will be a bag for you with everything you might need in the end stall, it will say out of order on it and be locked so you'll need to climb over"

"Can I at least take my daggers? You know I don't like to be without them" I said to him as I gave him the biggest puppy dog eyes I could and pouted out my lower lip.

Felix pinched the bridge of his nose exhaling in defeat. "Fine, but only the daggers. Here, attach this to your ankle and they will be concealed and safe should you need to use them"

Once I had them hidden away, I stood to readjust my outfit, taking one final glance in the mirror. "Right let's get the others and head out" I said, patting Felix gently on the upper arm as he made his way out of the room to gather the others.

"Seungmin, Jeongin! We're leaving in 5!" I called out whilst making my way down the stairs to the kitchen.

"Coming!" they both yelled out in unison.

After hearing some shuffling and steps they both arrived downstairs in the kitchen where Felix and Jisung were waiting for them.

"Got everything you need?" I ask them both.

"Yeah we do, but hyung.. you look.. amazing!" Jeongin said with his big cheesy grin.

"Thank you Innie, shame I'm not going to actually enjoy the festivities, aye?" I chuckled.

"How are you feeling about it Ji?" Seungmin asked, concerned for his friend. This wasn't just any old mission. This was a dangerous one, well.. the most dangerous one they had been on so far. This was due to the amount of mafia leaders that would be in attendance. But Jisung isn't easily deterred, no no. Jisung has his reasons he needs to be there, he won't rest until he gets revenge.. for them.

"I'm fine Seungmin, I promise. You know me, just eager to get in there, get what I need and get out. And hey, who knows, I may even have a little fun along the way" I said jokingly winking at him to lighten the mood.

"Come on then, let's get it" Felix says as he opens the van doors for us and climbs into the back seats.

"Hey guys, afterwards... how do we feel about going to get some cheesecake?"

"Sure!" Seungmin said whilst he started the engine and began their journey to the ball... which unbeknownst to them, would change their lives forever.
