A Game Of Love & Flames (Minsung)

Chapter 4

MINHO

As we pull up to the outside of the mansion where the ball is being held, I decide now is the time to go over who is doing what, so that there's no room for any issues tonight. Especially after last time. 

“Hyunjin, you go do your thing and observe from above as always” I say to him as he nods and makes his way out of the SUV to go and find his spot. 

“Hyung, you stay in the SUV and park it up in the big car park around the back. I want you to keep an eye on things from here. I want every security camera feed hacked. I want to know exactly what is going on, so I'm not taken by surprise if I end up having to find this dumb dumb in a fist fight again” I say, squinting my eyes at Changbin. Who currently sits comfortably beside me and looks incredibly unphased. 

Chan just nods, pulling out his laptop and lets out a giggle at Changbins boldness, or is it stupidity? Hmm. 

“Changbin, you're with me. I don't want you to leave my side tonight. Unless I say otherwise, got it?” I say, patting his leg to get his attention. 

“Yes boss, best behavior” He eyerolls back at me, going to stand to get out of the SUV. 

This little shit is like a fucking bulldozer when he gets going. I swear, I will kick his ass if he does anything stupid. 

“Good” I say, making my way out too. 

As we make our way over to the entrance we pull out our cards and invitations as always. 

“Mr Lee, pleasure to see you again” The security guard nods and lets us pass. 

I give him a nod as we make our way inside. 

“I hate these things, so fancy and for what? To glamorize the fact we all do terrible things” Changbin says beside me. 

“Power. It's a power play Bin. Everyone likes to come to these events to gain knowledge of others, especially after a few drinks. Why? Because knowledge is power” I say back to him as I observe the room. 

As I'm observing the room I can't help but notice a head of hair coloured in deep blue. I decide to get a little closer.. I notice the way his outfit accentuates his figure. Broad shoulders, tiny waist, perfectly round behind… Wait what am I even saying?! Am I blushing? Is it hot in here?

“You okay boss?” Changbin says following my eyeline to the back of the blue haired boy. 

“I'm fine, just never seen that guy here before, must be new here” I say sipping on my drink, trying to calm myself and cover my obvious staring. 

I then notice him make a move towards the stairwell. Hmm, vip guest are you? I think to myself as I make my move slowly to follow. Shit he's looking, act normal. I turn to Bin and say “Let's follow the new guy, see what he's up to” 

“And you told me to be on MY best behavior. You have NEVER been interested in anyone EVER. What's so special about this guy?” 

“Curiosity my friend” I say, patting Changbin on the shoulder. 

But as we all know, curiosity killed the cat. 

As I made my way to the top of the 3 flights of stairs, he had already turned the corner. I began to notice another person's voice, so I held back and signaled Changbin to do the same. Sounds familiar. I thought to myself. Wait.. are they… flirting? 

It wasn't until I heard a door close, I checked if it was clear to proceed. Hmm, where did they go? I listened again for the voices, nothing. 

“Will you stop breathing so loudly in my ear?! For the love of god Bin, how am I supposed to hear what's going on?" I whisper shout as I turn back to my friend who is unnecessarily close behind me. 

“Sorry!” He responds as he jolts backwards. 

Then I heard it, “Well, have it your way then, if you wont tell me!” I heard from the room, following shortly after that, a grunt and a loud thump. I turned to Changbin to see if he heard the same, he nodded back at me. 

We then both heard the door handle click, we looked at eachother with wide eyes as we dart into another room with the door open a crack. Now I'm not one to hide from anything, but like I said.. best behavior tonight. 

He went into the bathroom next door and after a few minutes emerged with… What is that? I couldn't quite make it out from my current position. I was about to make my presence known, just as he began running up the stairs again. The next floor was roof access. Shit. 

“Bin, let's go! We have to go into that room and see what's happened” I said running towards the room he just occupied. 

The man he had entered with was on the floor unconscious with multiple cuts all over his body. I recognised him as one of my fathers old contacts. Who is this guy and what is he doing here with him? 

“Isn't that one of your father's old contacts?” Changbin turned to ask me after checking the man was still alive. 

“He is, he went up to the roof, let's go and ask him what he's doing with him” I say as I make my way up the final set of stairs. 

Just as I open the door, I see him attaching something around his waist. He immediately turns to look at me and says “Can I help you sir, I believe the party is downstairs” he smiles one of the most breathtaking smiles I think ive ever seen. 

Pull your shit together Minho! 

“Why would I stay down there, when it seems all the fun is being had up here?” I pause. “I've never seen you here before, who are you?” As I slowly make my way forward out of the doorway signaling Changbin to stay put. 

“Ah, that's for me to know handsome. Now if you don't mind.. things to do, people to see.. you understand” He says as he climbs onto the ledge facing towards me. 

Something in my body is screaming to not let him do whatever it is he's about to do. The way the moonlight is catching his blue hair and his beautiful dark eyes has me frozen on the spot. As I go to speak, he blows me a kiss, opens his arms wide and lets himself fall backwards off of the roof. 

I was stunned to say the least, I ran forwards, Changbin right behind me. Just as we reach the edge of the building, a grappling hook flies towards us latching itself onto the side of the ledge. As we both look over the edge, there he is descending the building gracefully. Just as he reaches the bottom, he looks back up to us and gives a small wave before darting away into a secluded alleyway. 

I pull out my phone as Changbin and I look at each other in confusion. “Chan, I need you to find everything you can regarding that blue haired boy we followed” 

“Yes boss, I'll look now” he replies. 

“Come on, let's go home and brief the others” I say to Changbin as we make our way back downstairs.
