Chapter 3

JISUNG

“So all I have to do is swipe this card and show them the invitation?” I asked, turning to face Seungmin. 

“Yep… it should work now. I've put you under a different name, so they think you're a regular here. Put this in too so we can hear you and you can hear us” He says as he hands me an earpiece. 

“Thank you, Minnie. Well, here goes, I guess! Wish me luck!” I say, putting in my earpiece and making my way out of the van. 

“Oh and Innie, when me and Felix give you the signal, I need you to get us the hell out of here, Tokyo Drift this van if you have to!” I say to the youngest who just so happens to be one of THE best drivers I've ever met. 

“Of course, hyung, wait, really?! He says with glee. I simply nod in return. 

“Wahoo! I'll just be here helping Minnie with the cameras in the meantime!” he says excitedly, spinning on his swivel chair. 

Adorable. 

“Ji!” Felix shouts after me as I turn to leave.

“Hmm?” 

“Be careful. In and out. If you need me, just say the word. I'll be watching over you anyway” He says with a look of uncertainty. 

What's got him all worried today?

“Just be ready to go when I give the signal. I promise, I will be okay Lix” I say back to him, trying to reassure him. 

“We'll be ready” He says as he turns to make his way to a building nearby. He's got to get a good spot to set up and keep an eye on things from above. 

As I approach the front of the building, I am taken by surprise at how big and beautiful it really is. Security is on me the second I approach the doorway. 

“Card and invitation” The man before me demands. I hand it over and give him a tight-lipped smile, you know, one of the ones where you try not to look suspicious.

He scans the card and turns to speak to me “Ham Jin-Ho?” He asks, eyeing me up and down.

“That's correct” Giving him a brief nod. 

After a long pause, he says “You're all clear, proceed” 

Thank god for that, I thought it was going to get ugly, and I've not even made it past the front door. 

Thankfully, it's all going according to plan, and I get through without any issues. 

“Kim Seungmin, you beautiful genius, I could kiss you” I speak quietly in hopes that the guys all hear me, without me looking like I'm talking to myself. 

I hear a small laugh come back through the other end of the earpiece “As much as I love you, Ji, please do not. Save your kisses. Perhaps you'll even find a handsome mafia leader to smooch tonight, hmm?” he says back to me. 

“I don't think that will be a possibility for me tonight, boys, in and out. Remember?” I sigh, looking around the room for my target. 

Seungmin and Jeongin are currently watching through the hacked security camera feed in the back of the van. They parked it a little way down the road so as not to draw attention to themselves.

As I'm continuing my search around the room, an excited Jeongin shouting makes me jump.

“I've spotted him!” Jeongin calls out, pointing at the camera on one of the many computer screens they have set up. 

“Where Innie?” 

“Upstairs 3rd floor, did you get that too, Felix?” Jeongin replies. 

“Yep on it, guys, getting into position now, Ji. You should be able to start making a move” He responds. 

As I turn to make my way down the hall to the staircase that will take me to the third floor, I can't help but feel a pair of eyes on me. I turn around to take a look, but I can't see anyone looking in this direction.. 

I must just be overthinking it… right?
