JISUNG

My heart pounded so loud I was certain he'd hear it, but I kept still, trying to ignore the thrill of knowing he was right on the other side of the door. Every nerve in my body was on edge, and all I could picture was the look in his eyes-the way they'd gleamed with a hint of something darker as he whispered that single command to me.

"Run"

He wanted me to run. To hide.

But I also knew he wanted to find me.

I wanted him to find me.

I held my breath as the footsteps approached, closer and closer. They paused right outside the door. My hand slid up to cover my mouth, barely able to keep a smirk from creeping over my lips. He was close, probably could sense I was somewhere nearby. My pulse hammered, the thrill almost unbearable as I pictured him stepping into the room, catching me cornered and breathless. I hated that he always made me feel this way, that he got under my skin and into my mind, making me want him even when I was trying to keep my distance.

But he loved it, loved this game.

This was his territory.

"Jisung" his voice called, low and teasing, and the way he said my name sent a shiver down my spine. He was playing with me, dragging this out on purpose. The door creaked open, and I tensed, knowing he'd only have to take a few steps to find me. Every inch of me was alive, electricity buzzing under my skin, and I could feel the smirk that was probably spreading across his face as he took his time.

I couldn't help it. I shifted slightly, trying to press myself further into the shadows, but the slightest creak gave me away.

"Found you." His voice dropped, soft and possessive, like he'd just won a prize he'd been waiting too long to claim.

But I was too fast for him. I ran, with him hot on my heels. The feeling was exhilarating. Up the stairs, I ran, not daring to take a look behind me.

I turned to see he was no longer behind me.. confused, I went into his bedroom to hide in the walk-in wardrobe. His clothes were all dark. They would hide me better than mine would.

I entered quietly, leaving the door open a crack to let some light in and to see if he came in the room after me.

I backed up into the furthest corner until my back hit something I was expecting to be the wall. Before I even had a chance to put the pieces of the puzzle together, I felt his breath on my neck. His arms wrapped possessively around my torso, holding me in place.

I had the urge to scream, but his hand was quick around my mouth.

"Now, now, princess. I win."

I tried to keep my breathing steady, tried to act unfazed even though he could see right through it. There was no hiding the way he affected me, not with the way my pulse was racing or the slight tremor in my breath as I looked up at him.

"You really thought you could get away?" he whispered, his presence was all I could focus on, the heat radiating from him, that sly smile teasing at the corner of his mouth. His hand slid down from my mouth, fingers brushing lightly against my jaw as he tilted my chin up, his gaze unwavering. "I almost thought you wanted to get caught."

"I didn't" I murmured, though my voice betrayed me. But I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of admitting it, of admitting how badly I wanted him even now.

"Oh?" he leaned in, his breath warm against my ear, voice a soft, dark murmur that made my resolve crack. "Because you're not acting like someone who wants to escape."

My breath caught, and I had to bite my lip to keep from responding the way he wanted. He was too close, too intense, and it was taking everything I had not to just give in. But I knew better; I knew if I showed even the smallest sign of weakness, he'd take full advantage.

So I leaned in just enough to let my lips ghost over his cheek, my voice barely a whisper. "Guess you'll have to try harder to make me stay."

A flash of something dangerous flickered in his eyes as he closed the last bit of distance between us, his grip tightening just enough to make it clear: I wasn't going anywhere.
