MINHO

Morning came a lot sooner than expected, tossing and turning in my bed alone, trying to banish the thoughts in my head over the anguish I heard in jisungs cries for help. The nightmares about his family, what he must have seen or endured, breaking away a tiny piece of the armour I wore, gaining my sympathy is no easy feat. I have to try and get to the bottom of what happened to them, if not to soothe my curiosity at least to bring Jisung a little peace. Though, thinking about it, I will respect his decision, his simple request to keep last night's episode between us. I wonder how long the night terrors have plagued his sleep. How must they have affected him?

I decided it was time to get out of bed and head downstairs to get some paperwork completed in my office before the house became chaos.

Whilst sitting at my desk, I can't help but go over Jisung and his friends' files. It's almost as if they are all ghosts, like they don't want to be found. I guess I'll have to just figure it out as I go along.

On a whim, I decided to pull up the link to a news article Chan had provided when i asked him to find everything he could on them. I click on it and begin to read.

"Two young boys orphand after house fire tragically claims life of parents"

"Oh Jisung..." I sigh, looking to the ceiling, head resting on the back of the chair.

The thought of Jisung as a young boy, lonely and afraid, enters my mind. His sweet round cheeks stained with tears. It was almost too much to bear. I can't quite pinpoint the exact moment I felt the urge to protect this boy. Perhaps it was his screams in the depth of the night or the innocence in his eyes. Or maybe it was the familiarity of trying to prove himself, a feeling i knew all too well. All I know now is that I will do all I can to help him succeed in finding those responsible for his parents' and brothers' deaths. I needed him to open up to me about it. He needs to feel comfortable enough to open up to me about it all. Until then, I shall remain quiet about it all. The feeling of guilt for searching into his past without his permission slowly crept over me.

A light tap on the door pulled me from my thoughts.

A familiar head pops around the door. "Min?"

"Ah, Changbin. Good morning. "

"Good morning. Are you joining us for breakfast? Everyone is awake now. " He smiles.

"Of course. I'll be right there, "

He nodded and softly closed the door behind him.

How long had I been sitting there trying to process finding out about Jisungs parents for? Who knows.

I stood up and stretched away the tiredness. Then, I finally made my way out to the dining room for breakfast.

"Good morning, everyone" I announced as I approached the table.

"Good morning" Chan said, sipping his cup of coffee.

"Boss" Hyunjin smiled.

I looked over to Jisung, who looked sleepy and had his head leaning on Felix's shoulder.

"How did you four sleep?" I say directing my gaze to all of them.

"Like a dream, the bed was amazing, hyung!" Jeongin said, beaming back at me.

"Seungmin?"

"Quite well, thank you, Minho" He responded with a small but grateful smile.

"And you two? Sunshine twins?" I say with a small chuckle, looking at them having their own little discussion.
