It's better to love you
in silence for there is no
one to tell me that these
feelings are wrong.
Whether I have to laugh or
cry on my own, I know
I love you in ways where people
cannot destroy.

It's better to love you
from a distance for it
makes me wary of
certain lines I should not
get across with.
I can see you just fine
from where I stand,
among the crowd
who wants you,
among these people who
loves you like I do.

It's better to love you
when the night is long
and our horizon splits in two.
We may not see each other
but I know we have the same
skies to look up to.

It's better to love you
in between the lines I have written,
sealed away inside my poetries,
hidden in metaphors and idioms.
I, alone, hold you close in
every word unspoken.
I, alone, have the key to unlock
the door of my disfavored delusion.
