The atmosphere in Kirdpan house was so tensed that even though it was summer but the wind was chilly.

Lawan glowered at Nanon while taking a step closer to him. Nuea and Arak were standing outside with other servants. While the inner room was filled with housemates. Chalerm, Yao and Lek were behind Hiran, Phob and Ubon.

"I don't know when you will realize that you are constantly the reason for our worries." Fah said from the other corner. Noi was consoling her as Fah was face palming frustrated.

Nanon was looking down without uttering a word. Because no matter what he said, he knew that his mother will not listen to him. He didn't care about Fah anyway.

"Nanon." Lawan said. "I am tired of you."

"Sister..." Ubon walked forward. "At least let him explain himself."

"Ubon, have you ever realized how difficult it is for an omega to be out in at night alone? What if something would have happened to him? The alphas out there can be vultures. They will tear him apart and he will nowhere to be found." Lawan asked Ubon.

"I understand sister but..."

"NO!" Lawan yelled. "Nobody understands apart from a mother of an omega."

Nanon looked at his mother. He felt a bit of guilt realizing that how worried she could have been. He decided to finally apologize for his mistake of running away from the crowd to fly the lantern.

He realized that it could have been dangerous if there was someone else instead of the general whom he met on the lonely rooftop.

"We have a reputation!" Fah said. "If something happens to this omega, who will marry him?"

"Mother..." Hiran shook his head. "Let's not get into something that didn't happen."

"I agree." Phob said. "And Nanon is not a child. He understands his safety. He was just lost looking for lanterns. But he came back on his own right?"

"You both are spoiling him too much, brother!" Noi said. "Just wait and watch. He will be the reason this family name will be a joke to everyone soon."

Nanon scoffed making everyone turn to him.

"Look how shameless he is." Fah pointed.

Lawan shook her head. "Mai!" She called her servant. "Cane him 30 times."

"Aunt please." Yao ran and came forward. "I-it wasn't his mistake. I allowed him to go and see lanterns there."

"Yes, aunt." Lek added panicked. "He was with us and he asked brother. Right Chalerm?" He turned to Chalerm who quickly nodded.

Yao turned to Lawan. "So, please cane me. I am alpha and a soldier, too."

"Don't defend him. He will not die with 30 canes." Fah said.

"Right! He needs to be taught a lesson." Noi added.

"Aunt but..." the brothers tried to intervene.

"Sister..." Ubon and Phob too tried to stop.

"Lawan..." Hiran was about to talk to Lawan.

But Nanon walked forward. "Where?" He asked Lawan.

Lawan looked at him questioningly.

"Nanon!" Hiran eyed him. "You stand quietly."

Nanon chuckled. "I really thought for once, that I should apologize. I did. But..." He sighed and looked at his mother seriously. All the mocking smile gone. "I realized that the worry was not for me being in danger. It was for the family's reputation. Fair enough. I know my value anyway. Mai, let's go."
