The entire Kirdpan household stood in stunned silence as Chief Eunuch Kowit appeared at the entrance of the mansion.

"Greetings, Commander Hiran and Lady Lawan," Kowit announced with a smile, his voice snapping everyone out of their trance.

"I am here with a royal decree for the Kirdpan family, particularly for Mr. Nanon Korapat Kirdpan." Kowit said to Hiran.

"This boy had long decided to ruin us. Now see, the king's men are here to arrest us," Noi mumbled.

"Noi," Lady Fah interjected, rolling her eyes, "guards come to arrest, not eunuchs."

"Apologies, Mother," Noi grimaced.

"What has Nanon done now?" Lady Lawan whispered to Commander Hiran.

"Silence, everyone. Let us bow for the decree first," Hiran commanded. He turned to Nanon, who stood frowning in confusion with Chalerm and his two servants. "Nanon, come here and accept the decree respectfully."

Nanon nodded and walked to the front. The entire family kneeled on the ground and bowed in acceptance of the decree.

Kowit opened the scroll and read it out loud.

"Let it be known that the Kirdpan family has served the Thammarat army and our nation with unwavering bravery and selflessness for generations. Their sacrifices and achievements are celebrated and deeply appreciated. This enduring loyalty, passed down through the ages, exemplifies the highest virtues of our realm.

In recognition of this noble service, His Majesty hereby commends Fourth Master Nanon Korapat Kirdpan for his invaluable support and cooperation in aiding the royal army to thwart the smuggling of weapons, jewels, and gold. Despite the potential for straining family bonds, Nanon Korapat Kirdpan placed justice and loyalty to the nation above all else.

As a token of gratitude, His Majesty bestows upon Commander Hiran and Lady Lawan Kirdpan's army a reward of 200 horses and soldiers. Furthermore, it is decreed that Nanon Korapat Kirdpan and his esteemed family are invited to the upcoming royal banquet to dine with the royal family, in recognition of their outstanding cooperation and dedication to the kingdom.

By the grace of His Majesty, this decree is issued to honour and celebrate the Kirdpan family's unwavering loyalty and service to the nation.

Given under our hand and seal this day, in the reign of His Majesty King Rama Phra Witthaya Nuengprakaew."

"Please accept the decree," Kowit smiled at Nanon, who extended his trembling hands to accept it. "Our General Pawat has commended you personally in the royal court, Mr. Nanon. I commend you too."

Nanon gulped, overwhelmed by the commendation in the royal court, leading to this royal decree for his bravery. Tears threatened to fall, but he held them back.

As Kowit departed, Commander Hiran smiled and patted Nanon's head. Lady Lawan maintained her composure, though inwardly, she was overjoyed for her son. Fah, Noi, and Por seethed with anger, seeing this as a reward for ruining their plan to save Cher from the guards.

Chalerm ran to Nanon and hugged him, while Nuea and Arak jumped with excitement.

Nanon was happy but speechless. His life seemed to be changing, and he could finally look his family in the eye, proud of his achievements. He mentally noted to thank General Pawat if he ever got the chance to meet him again.
