"Where is he?" Joss asked Sunan as the tribe gathered for a meal at night. It had been three days since Joss last saw Nanon, and he had decided not to visit him.

"He's not coming. He said he's not going to eat this," Sunan answered, annoyed.

Joss clenched his fist. "WHAT DOES HE WANT?" he yelled, drawing everyone's attention.

Warit, already irked by Joss's unusual behavior, glowered at his chief with disbelief. An outsider having such an impact on their chief was unprecedented. Warit himself had never been able to affect Joss this way.

"He wished to speak to you, Chief," Sunan said.

Joss frowned, his confusion mixed with anger.

"I apologize, Chief. But it seems he is a bit stubborn despite his health," Sunan added.

Joss closed his eyes to calm down before nodding to Sunan. He walked back to his chair in front of the fire, rejecting food.

Warit approached him and sat on his lap. "Chief, shall I prepare something to calm you down?" he asked, tracing a finger across Joss's face.

Joss yanked his hand away and pushed him off. "Don't think you can cross your line with me," he snapped.

Warit, embarrassed and insulted, looked around before stepping back. "I apologize, Chief. I was just worried..." He paused when he saw Nanon walking out of the hut with Sunan.

Everyone turned to look at the omega, who stared back at them blankly.

Joss looked him over again, feeling the same unease as before. He couldn't pinpoint it, so he maintained his posture and waited for Nanon to greet him.

Nanon stood still, not budging or lowering his gaze.

"Bow down to the chief!" Sunan nudged Nanon.

Nanon bowed briefly. "Greetings, Chief of Panthara."

Joss felt annoyed by the obligatory greeting. Nobody in Panthara could behave this way with him. By now, he would have slit their throat, but somehow, he couldn't. "I heard you wished to speak to me."

Nanon nodded. "I do."

Joss met his eyes, anticipation growing in his chest. This omega made him curious. "Speak while you have a chance."

Everyone fell silent, only the sounds of crickets and frogs in the distance and the crackling fire breaking the silence. Nanon looked at their faces glowing in the firelight before turning to their chief, who watched him intently.

"You know my condition," Nanon started. "I am pregnant." The tribe knew this, but his next words made them gasp. "So, I cannot serve you with my body and I expect you to respect this boundary."

Joss's expression turned blank as he was indirectly insulted in front of his people. He gritted his teeth but contained his anger. "It is I who decide the boundaries here."

"Yes, I know," Nanon replied without fear. "And so, I wished to speak with you about a deal."

Joss raised an eyebrow in surprise before bursting into laughter. "You... You have a deal for me?" He walked to Nanon, releasing his pheromones. The omegas in the mob gasped and stepped back, feeling uncomfortable.

But Nanon stood his ground, not meeting Joss's eyes. Joss stopped releasing pheromones when he realized Nanon was unaffected.

Joss faced Nanon and tilted his head to meet his eyes. "Amuse me," he said.

Nanon took a deep breath, feeling safe from the pheromones. "I am not sure what is going on outside, but I am sure my husband will come to get me soon."
