itzy and stray kids were both produced by jyp(api) entertainment, so it was bound for the two groups to meet someday.

and although none of the other members of itzy had known any of the stray kids members beforehand, their leader, bangchan was the only member you'd known pre-debut. you were friends with the other members now, though.

the two of you had been best friends since you'd became a trainee at jype at the age of 15, and you've been two peas in a pod ever since.

one day, itzy was invited on an interview with stray kids. it was a sort of "facing your fears" type of episode, where a duo or trio — one member from itzy, the other one/two from stray kids — would be put in a haunted escape room in which they will face their fears (that have been mentioned in other interviews).

"alright, for the teams," began the host, "we'll have ryujin, felix and seungmin. then yeji and hyunjin. yuna and jeongin together; chaeryeong with changbin and han, [name] and bangchan, and finally yuna and leeknow"

you went over to bangchan with a small smile which he returned along with a small nudge to your shoulder.

each group went one at a time and the others sat in a waiting room playing small games and laughing at the screams that could be heard.

you didn't think much of it and thought you'd be fine. that was until you heard the host speak about you and chan's horror room.

"now bangchan and [name], the two of you will be put in a haunted mirror maze with clowns. the two of you must find the chest inside the maze containing the key to escape" said the host.

you froze at the first sentence, the rest of his words being a blur.

you see, when you and chan were still in your trainee days, you'd always hang out and make plans whenever possible. well, one time the two of you went to a haunted clown house containing a mirror maze which you lost him in. and there, you were sexually assaulted by one of the actors.

it was traumatic, to say the least. if chan hadn't found you screaming and sobbing trying to get away from the man, you didn't know what you would've done. so this escape room, it just reminded you of it too much, but the host knew none of that.

"hey- does she have to do this?" ryujin immediately stood up from her seat seriously, not afraid to argue with the host.

"it seems a bit much, no?" added chan, giving your hand a small squeeze.

the remaining members, felix and seungmin, looked at you with slight worry in their eyes, knowing how much the situation disturbed you.

ryujin was slightly irked at the host, but you reluctantly and eventually decided to just do it. as long as chan was with you, you'd be alright, right?

wrong.

the moment you stepped into the colorfully dark room, anxiety coursed through your entire body, making your grip on bangchan's hand only tighter.
