for stray kids's new album drop, your older brother felix decided to host a celebration party, inviting mutual friends and of course the members. you were quite close to most members and spotted almost all of them.

you greeted bangchan as he was the first to arrive, you hung out with hyunjin a bit, welcomed leeknow in. you even gave a hi across the crowded room to changbin and han, and you were standing in a corner with your best friend seungmin.

everyone was there. everybody but one person.

"hey- have you seen jeongin yet?" asked seungmin, taking a drink from his red solo cup. crossing your arms and leaning against the wall, you scanned the room "nope" you said quite irked

noticing your slightly annoyed state, seugmin chuckled lightly to which you raised your eyebrows to. "chill, [name]. i just don't get why you hate him so much"

"i do not hate him, minnie" you half-lied, rolling your eyes. sure, jeongin was seen as a "cutie patootie" as chan would call him, but there was just a slight...tension between the two of you, and it was bothering your somewhat 'friendship' with him; if you could even call it that.

you never really were friends, though. the only reason you tolerated him being around was because of felix. you just felt this certain grudge against him for some reason, and you never really knew what it was.

"i think it's just because you like him. call it my intuition, a prediction if you will." said leeknow who suddenly entered the conversation, smirking at you as he took a sip of his drink as well. he and seungmin were somewhat closer to you than the other members. they were practically your best friends.

you fake gagged, rolling your eyes once more. "eugh. honestly, minho, how could you even think that?"

you lifted the rim of your cup to your lips and took a small sip until you noticed leeknow smirking at you and raising his eyebrows to something behind you. someone.

jeongin.

it was jeongin. with his ginger hair done nicely, and a black tanktop and vest with black pants due to the hot weather. yeah, you had grudges against him, and you might've disliked him, but lord knows there was no denying that he looked good. and boy did he know it.

his muscles showed and slightly tensed as he hugged seungmin with a smile, then dapping up leeknow with a "hi, hyung" before he got to you.

you both stood in each other's silent presence for a minute or so, even the obnoxiously loud music couldn't hide the silence between you two.

he eyed your outfit up and down — a layered tank top with a leather skirt — something you wore to match with your friend yeji, who hung out with hyunjin across the room.
