Amy woke early on Thursday morning, she was actually excited to go to school that day, but only because she could see Steven and Mark and watch LostAlone perform again. Her mind was washed from the events of Saturday afternoon; she had woken up late Sunday morning and had spent the day at Steven’s house jamming with guitars until he walked her home for lunch. Steven had called Mr. Marvin up about Amy sleeping over, so he wasn’t surprised when she didn’t come home that night. Monday and Tuesday went as well as they could have done, the whole school looked at Amy and Steven holding hands as they walked through the school corridors with either envy or disgust, but Amy didn’t let this bother her, she had Steven with her. However on Wednesday, Steven had to leave her over lunch to do the gig at Mark and Tom’s school, so Amy sat under their usual tree and blocked the world out. Steven came back halfway through an English lesson, which wasn’t a bad lesson because she had been left to her own devices to write poems and stories at the back of the class. Steven had told her everything that had happened, Tom hadn’t been anything less than kind and helpful and the whole gig went down a storm. So Thursday was going to be a good day... hopefully as Amy had to see Tom 4 days after he assaulted her, she didn’t hate him as such, she was worried more than anything, worried about what he was going to say and do. Amy ran to the bathroom and had a long warm shower, dried her hair and changed into her normal school uniform. It was a typical start to the day; getting breakfast, brushing teeth, sorting out schoolbags and getting in the car and being driven to school by Mrs. Marvin who was back to her usual self after 5 months of being on her new medication. Amy tried to be more talkative and happier, which now was easier to do thanks to Steven, and Mrs. Marvin seemed to notice too as she was happier that her daughter was holding up a normal conversation. The car pulled up into the school grounds and Amy kissed her mother goodbye and got out of the car,
“Bye mum, love you” Amy said as she shut the door feeling a lot better that she hadn’t slammed the door on her before saying goodbye. She made her way across the freshly mown grass and into the corridors and over to her locker where she went to get her pencil case that she kept in there at all times. When she closed the door to her locker she was face to face with Steven, she gasped at the pleasant surprise,
“Hey baby”
“Hi Steven, what are you doing here so early?” She asked him as Steven leaned in for a kiss,
“Seeing the Head to run through what will happen at the gig and the Health and Safety checks, I’m totally stoked for this gig!” he replied. Steven went back in for another kiss, he was obsessed with constantly caressing Amy’s lips with tender kisses, they did it all the time at school now, during break and lunch, in the library behind the bookcases even in the music room when they stayed an hour after school to carry on composing their music pieces; Mr Meadows had walked in on them a few times and the first time he almost spilt his coffee, but he didn’t mind,
“Keep those emotions coming but I think you’d benefit more in the long run if you put them in your music piece, not in each other’s mouths” He had joked as he mopped up the coffee on his hands.
“I can’t wait either” Amy began as she moved her arms to hang around Steven’s neck, Steven rested his hands on her hips and they put their foreheads together and closed their eyes “Are you going to play ‘Ethereal’ or ‘Put Pain to Paper’ today?” She asked him quietly,
“Both...” Steven whispered still with their eyes closed and heads together “I’ve got the set list the guys devised if you wanna read it?” He asked as he opened his eyes and checked his pockets, he found a piece of folded up paper and gave it to Amy, and she read it:
1) Unleash the Sands of All Time
2) Our Bodies Will Never Be Found
